5th Anniversary

If memory and math serves me right, DCA will be celebrating 5 years under the golden sun in 2006, right when Disneyland's 50th anniversary wraps up. Does anyone know if Disney plans to do anything? I for one will spend a lil more time in the park, admiring how its changed in just five years.

I looked it up, and while gold is the traditional gift for a 50th birthday/anniversary... 5 years is wood. yes wood. Does this mean we'll be seeing wooden elevator shafts on TOT? and wooden coaster cars on Screamin?

Maybe then can have 5 hidden 5s.

Does anyone have any DCA anniversary news or plans?

They probably won't do anything for it. Maybe a poster or sign of some sort, but I wouldn't expect a parade or anything special. Maybe an announcement.

yea... you're probably right.

still, im just a lil happy to know that DCA's still around 5 years later, and with such growth.

HAHAHA.......I doubt they will be celebrating anything for the 5th its cool it made it to the 5th...But its not a big number at the 10th that'd kinda be important and something proboaly will happen..But when I was there this year for the 5th it seemed like no CM cared or knew about it...Well im sure they cared but..........

Maybe they'll celebrate the fact that it's still there! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE DCA, but I wouldn't love it so much if I didn't have my season pass.

i hope they do something but it would be weird just finishing the big big 50th of disneyland! and here comes little ol' california adventure just turning 5...

yeah i think its monsters inc and maybe not a parade or anything and it wont be advertised

Yea I agree... obviously it would be wierd if they were to do some year long celebration... but it would be nice if there was at least some mention.

hmm its a sweet idea, but i dont think it'll happen, like some of you said tey'll probably advertise it with monster's Inc

It would be nice if they did a little something for it...I can remember DCA back in the day it was nothing more than a picture and a big, empty space. It would be a nice little send-off for the end of the 50th celebration, and maybe it would kick-start more attendance for the park. I'll be sure to celebrate!

That's exactly what I was thinking.... once the 50th is over they will need to do something else to promote the park, or the attendance will plummett.
