Default Would You Get Mad?

I was watching video of the Parade of Dreams at YouTube and in one the Queen from Alice in Wonderland grabs the persons camera and shakes it during the show stop, it seems as though Disney wouldn't want the characters touching guests belongings in case something happened and it had to be replaced. I would not be too angry casue I don't live far from Disneyland but if that was my vacation I would be. Here is the video link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lKZx...%20of%20Dreams

The employee woulda had to pay for it then. Usually the queen does things like that to guests as a part of the act. She took my hat once and pretended to run off with it.

I think that I would be a little annoyed by that, especially if I was filming something important (like if the other characters were doing something really cute and she messed up my video moment). I would only get mad if my camera broke as a result of the Queen shaking it. But the video was actually kind of funny!

Wow, thats kinda weird, she could have done something else like maybe cover the lens for a second, hmmm just feels a little awkward having a character do something like that. Even heard the people behind the cam saying, "Stop, we're filming." Also she looks really creepy up close like that.

From the looks of the video(yes i know it's in flash so it's low quality no matter what) they might have been filming this in video mode on a small still camera, in which case the queen shaking them does not seem as bad. Now if I imagine her shaking a camcorder on the other hand then I'd think poorly of it(and I'd be pissed off if it were mine.. even if she touches it she could be messing up my lens which can be very expensive). I don't think the person playing the queen is that dumb though.. I get the impression, like I said, that they were just holding a small digital still camera and the queen lightly started shaking it thinking they were trying to take a picture of her.

Almandot does make a good point. Like he said if it was very expensive then she wouldn't of shaken it, but like her also said if was a small digital, she might had thought it was a picture being taken so she moved in for a good view of her.. Eck.

I would probably get a little mad. When I'm filming things, I don't like anything to disrupt the quality, mood, or feel of whatever I'm taping. I think should've exercised a little better judgment and not fool around with such expensive equipment.

My camcorder has the drop protection thing. So when its shaken or is dropped it stops recording and shuts off. Having to turn it back on and reset takes FOREVER. I would have been a little ticked. But while I was there this week...I saw that parade about 5 times...and recorded it twice...ok, three times (deleted the first one to make room or other stuff). Thats really crazy though...it happens when youre sitting up front I guess...

I agree, I think it was a digital camera and she might have been shaking it so that they would not get a picture of one of the other characters, I would not have been mad, but if it was a video camera I would be annoyed. One time I asked Cruella De Vil to sign in my autograph book and it was a Disney Princess book so she signed it but she crossed out the heads on a little picture of the princesses at the bottom of the page, it was funny, I did not get mad because it was only one page and it was her autograph page, I would have been mad if she went to my whole book and did it, I think it was all part of the queen's act.

I dont think that would have really bothered me at all. It's sort of how the queen is supposed to be and I don't think that the CM would be intentionally trying to ruin somebody's good time, but he/she was just "in character" and trying to make the guests have a good time. Although I could see some people getting pretty upset about it.

Yeah Cruella does that stuff all the time. One time there was this lady taking a picture of her kids and Cruella, and Cruella just opened up her coat and blocked the kids from the picture right as it was taken. It's all part of the act, and I think that it makes the experience better. The queen was just being in character.

In my opinion, there is "being in character" and then there is crossing a line. I feel when anybody--Disney characters included--touches someone else's camera equipment without being asked to, it is bad form.

I'd be mad if i was videotaping something for my family to remember and then having the Queen Of Hearts shake my camera

It does look like it was a "camera" being used to record a video, so it could've been confusing for the Queen. You've got to be careful grabbing other peoples equipment tho'!

Clearly if this person was trying to record a memory, they got one. One they decided to share with everyone!

I like that these characters are "characters"! How boring they'd be if they were squeaky clean. One of the best my family has seen was Cruella, who snatched a pair of those springy-star-antennae-things off the head of a kid who wasn't paying attention and tossed them on the ground with a wonderfully disgusted grimace. The kid quickly understood that you have to watch yourself around a Disney villian and smiled.
