Default Working @ Grad Nite

To all the CM's out there, how is like working at Grad Nite? I am scheduled for June 19th (Thursday) to do Grad Nite.

From my friends who have worked Grad Nites before, they say that they want to sleep for a long long time afterwards.

For people in my department, it's a blast...because we got to go places we weren't allowed to during normal day!

It all depends on what you work for Grad Nites. I worked in foods the last 2 years and it was ok, pretty boring if you ask me cause you dont do much. However for like attractions and other departments, I simply dont really get much of a reaction out of them either. For Parades/Show Support we dont do anything for grad nites period since there are no parades or shows. So it really depends on where you work.

Where are you working? My boyfriend works Grad Nites, he has to chaperone all the bad kids, so it kinda sucks for him. -_- So it really all just depends on where you work.

Yeah, some crazy stuff happens. Like right now, Mr. Toad is down cause apparently someone ripped the judges hand off. Lack of respect.

Aw, well obviously I don't work at the Park, but I was there for Grad Nite and I'd just like to say how much I appreciated all of those hard-working cast members. About 2 or 3 am I was getting pretty drowsy, but all of the CM's I ran into (particularly those in the Emporium) were wide awake and as friendly as ever. It was very nice, especially considering how things have potential to get quite out of hand when the park is filled with teenagers. But everyone seemed happy to be there, and there weren't any big incidents [that I knew of]!

for night custodial it is very hectic we basicly have to do our normal night work aswell as some of the day custodial duties like restroom monering.and at the end of the night we have around 3-4 hours to get the park "show" ready for the day.but it is still fun.:)

I only worked two Gradnights in my three year career. It wasn't that bad but as the night wears on things really slow down and it can get a little boring. If you take a nap before your shift and try to interact with as many guests as possible you will be fine.

Alright then! Thank you everyone for your knowledge and tips!

I work foods at DLP.

Btw, I was told I am doing ODV. Anything I should know about ODV? I overheard from others that the grads sometimes steal from the carts and go crazy on you for no reason..

DLP?

Well the grads can do anything to anyone on grad night, but i;m sure security is a lot tighter on grad night, then it is on a normal day.

It is soooo freakin fun! The grads can be a pain in the ass sometimes, but its worth it. It really depends on where you work though. And for me, it depends on who I work with because I have hundreds of people in my department and not everyone is super fun to be around, but some people are a blast.

So basically we are given permission to drop our awesome guest service if the guests are rude, and we can be rude back and kick them out. We spend most of the night passing the time and fooling around. We're allowed to do things that are normally big no-nos, like going on rides in costume (usually when the grads aren't present). Yeah.. we usually have a lot of extra time when the grads aren't there, but I work in DCA. Sometimes we'll go on screamin a bunch of times and then go back to work to finish up. It's so fun! Its much more laid back than my job normally is. The only pain is staying up late, but I rarely work past 1 at DCA for grad nites.

Yes, for ODV, they will steal from the glow carts ALL THE TIME! As for the other carts, keep a look out for Front of House leads because all the teens are gonna buy one thing, and give you nothing but 20's. YOU WILL RUN OUT OF 1's and 5"s around midnight if you are at any of the Ones(Main Street) or Sixes(New Orleans). So if you see a lead, let them know that you will need bundles of 1's and 5's. The Threes(Frontierland)and the twos(tomorrowland) are the most fun though.
