Business. If I were in charge of the prices. I would definately raise them. Seeing there is a lot of attendance.

Why can't DLR lower prices?

New attractions, increased business expenses, and inflation. Not to mention all the TDA Exec's Escalades

Prices are affected by the market... If the price was "too high" attendance would begin to drop off. People will pay what they feel the item is worth... Econ 101. The problem is that many businesses think that when things like attendance drop off, that they need to raise prices to make up for lost revenue.... wrong!! they need to lower prices and attract more business. Disney seems to be right were it should be... attendance is off from the 50th anniversary, but not down so much that people are staying away.

The thing is they'll never lower prices so it's not just a direct market influence.. The only thing they can do if attendance is dropping is to do promotional deals that get the price down because they aren't going to lower it and then raise it back up when attendance is high again. So we have ticket prices higher than before but we have the twofer deal that's been pretty popular..

Can the same be said of California Adventure though?

...well, we're discussing Disneyland anyhow. It is pretty amazing how many people keep coming even though the price is pretty high up there. They should at least put in alot of that money they take in towards improving the parks, and even though things have been looking up for Anaheim lately, I think its progressing at a snail's pace. But I guess the exec's Escalades are more important in the long run.

I don't think the prices are too high. As a matter of fact look at what you get for the price of a ticket/ AP/ PAP. You get full access to 2 parks of family oriented, child safe, yet exciting fun. You get incredible parades, fireworks, and awesome shows, like Fantasmic. You get to go to a place that has more to do, than you can accomplish in a 3 to 4 day span. Unfortunately it costs money to accomplish all of that for us, and pay for the staffing, and upkeep for all of that. If you take into account all of those things, the price of admission is pretty reasonable. I feel that Premium Annual Passes for all of that, even though I live in Washington state, is pretty reasonable, and I will gladly spend the money to go, even if it is only once or twice a year, and believe me, that is a lot of money for me, but to me it is well worth it. As a matter of fact, if Disneyland is the only place that I go for vacation every year, that would be just fine with me!

Yeah. But we have to work to get the money so we can pay our bills and all that junk. And what ever's leftover is used for food and other supplies that the family needs.

When you go to a local community carnival with "Funtastic" rides or something similar, you will pay approximately $3-$4 to go on ONE RIDE. The operators are usually scary looking and likely missing one or more front teeth, plus you have to question how safe those rides really are. Now let's say you go on 10 rides, that is already $40 spent on something very mediocre. Isn't it more worth it to spend that same money at Disneyland where you can ride as many rides as you want for one price with the added benefit of being able to watch amazing fireworks and Fantasmic?? Kind of gets things in perspective, huh? =)

well each ride costs money to run, plus the fireworks, parades, fantasmic, and shops. Plus to pay the employees, characters, and other stuff. But ya, its really too expensive.
