Default Where do you sit?

What is your favorite spot to sit on a ride at the Disneyland Resort?

My favorite of all time is sitting on the back of Thunder around 11 p.m. Does anybody know what I'm talking about? I swear, the ride is so much faster at night! Is it just me? You HAVE to know what I'm talking about! If not, try it!

P.S. I hope this isn't an existing thread, I spent over a half hour looking through all the threads!!

So, post your opinions!

You look smart! I created this thread, and then I was looking through all the topics or whatever, and I saw mine, and I clicked on it and then it edited the text of the title... now the title's all messed up! Can you change the name of the title? How?

There's a lot of rides that I have favorite spots to sit in.

Splash Mountain: I like sitting in the back, I have reasons to suspect that this is the seat that you get the least wet, therefore the seat that I usually sit in.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad: Yes! I love sitting in the back at night!

Indiana Jones: For some reason I always have to have an edge, it doesn't matter which side, I just have to sit on the edge, preferably in the back row.

Haunted Mansion: I have to sit on the right side of the Doom Buggy, the left side scares me......

But my absolute favorite spot of all time is sitting in the front row of the boat on POTC. For some reason it makes the ride more enjoyable for me. Being in the front makes it more.....fun? I guess just because there isn't people sitting in a row in front of you, blocking your view of the ride.

For me, on Indy I have to sit in the front. It adds some real fun.

Also, of course, the purple plain teacup. It really is true!

I heard a rumor that ALL the major rollercoasters speed up at night because usually the little ones are gone.

I love riding the Matterhorn in the night time. When he just pops out at you, with those glaring red eyes, it gives you such a thrill!

Not true. The reason behind this is is that the there is grease in the bearings that are part of the wheel. That grease is at it's thinest at night due to all the usage. It's heated up and therefore easier to move. The trains are slower in the morning on all roller coasters because the grease has cooled down and is not so fluid.

As for a favorite place on a ride to sit? Most roller coasters it is in the back seat.

For a DL coaster, I love the back. For any "intense" cosater, the very front.

For POTC, we always ask for the front, and I love the back of Splash Mountain

I love Big Thunder at night, especially during the Fantasmic fireworks. I also love it in the day, but they are two different feelings so I want to experience both. Lucky for me I always seem to be able to ride it at least twice a visit.

Here's another question - are there rides that you would rather ride solo? I love being the only one in the seat on Big Thunder.

My favorite locations:

BTMRR - in the middle, towards the rear, but not the last car and definitely never the first car.
Matterhorn - the front row, first car.
IASW - in the middle of the boat, alone - the only one in the boat.
POTC - the first row.
Indy - driver's seat.
Horse Drawn Trolly - second row (first row is a little to close to the horse's behind!).
Star Tours - towards the rear, in the middle. The front row feels too much like a movie.
HISTA - in the middle of the theater, you hear everyone's reactions like a wave.
Mark Twain - midship at the bow (great view of New Orleans Square), then I move to the top deck when the boat is on the backside of the Rivers of America and watch the paddlewheel and listen to the stacks.
Davy Crocket Explorer Canoes - middle, right side.
