Default What Tomorrowland Needs?

Tomorrowland as usual is right now the dirtiest, oldest (minus Nemo and Buzz), and out dated land in all of Disneyland. So it gets me thinking what should they add to Tomorrowland? More attractions? Walt's original vision? Less Pixar rides? A fresh coat of paint and architecture? Awesomeness?

I understand the Imagineers have big plans for the land, and Star Tours 2 and a PeopleMover themed to the (Incredibles unfortunately, why not Wall-E?) are both on their way, and just think of the possibilities in store, we must remember, after Pooh's Hunny Hunt, the Imagineers and Disney both proved they still got it, and the upcoming redo of DCA also looks very cool as well.

This thread is where you can discuss the past, present, and future, of Tomorrowland, and remember...There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow."

I'm thinking maybe something with Figment above the Starcade and a Carousel Theater show on the first floor of Innoventions starring Sonny Eclipse of Florida's TL (this would be based on a concept from the abandoned Tomorrowland 2055 project)

Tomorrowland, along with Toontown, is my least favorite land. I can't think of anything to do with it at this moment, though.

An "Incredibles"-themed People Mover? Ugh. I didn't like the Incredibles much at all, and to have a ride for them is... eww. I don't like "Cars" very much, either, and they're going to make a whole land for them at DCA. But that's another story.

Right now, it seems like Tomorrowland is just a way to get Fantasyland if you happen to be at that end of Main Street. I hardly ever stop to do anything there.

Tomorrowland used to be one of my favorite lands as a kid... I didn't go on Space Mountain, I didn't care for Circlevision or America sings or anything. I remember the going on the subs, the Rocket Jets, and Autopia a few times. Fun, but nothing super special. Mostly I enjoyed going on the PeopleMover millions of times, and seeing Captain EO because I worshiped Michael Jackson back then. But there was just that look to it back then, that vibe, that made it so special.

Now, the look is totally gone for me, but I love Space and Buzz and its great going on Nemo and Autopia again. Tomorrowland needs a makeover badly.

The Incredibles People Mover thing is a reeeeeeeeeeally old rumor. I'm pretty sure it's not gonna happen.

Okay, well I'll juggle some ideas.. should be fun.

An updated Star Tours, definitely, but I've never seen Star Wars, so I can't come up with anything specific. Also, put the Astro Orbiter on top of the People Mover station (which would also be restored). Pretty much the classic ideas..

For the subs, maybe they could change it around to a Deep Sea exploration theme, and then various undersea Disney friends just happen to run into us and interact. (due to those oh-so-futuristic hydrophones). For example, we're trudging through the deep unexplored caverns looking for Atlantis, and then we find Atlantica, or we're touring through the majestic Great Barrier Reef and run into Nemo. They say hello, there's a few laughs, and then they zip off. Basically, make the Disney characters a happy bonus, not the whole point of the attraction.

Personally, I'd also rip out the Autopia since it takes up a TON of space, and it isn't really worth it. Maybe move it to Radiator Springs/ Route 66 (anything's better than "Carsland") in DCA or something.

Hmm, it'd be cool if there was a time travel ride, but instead of traveling to the future, the queue/lobby is set in the future, and the ride travels to the past.

And lastly, there could be a ride like Pooh's Hunny Hunt with the same tech, except it could be themed to exploring a different planet. Like maybe Neptune or something.

So yeah, just throwing stuff out there... Apparently I'm way into exploration since that's what all of my ideas are about. Tomorrowland does need a more unified theme, though, since it's currently really vague and doesn't really make any sense.
Oh yeah, and I'd tear down Buzz, too. Because, Buzz...You. Are. A. Toy!!

I like a lot of your ideas Masquerade. A time travel ride would be great. Only some of them are not very realistic. Submarine/Nemo was reopened only a year ago. The chances that it will be redone any time soon are second to none(Although I would REALLY like to see it happen). Same with buzz. It's a somewhat popular ride and fairly new. I agree Tomorrowland is out of wack but I think it would best that they add or refurbish some of the attractions before they start ripping things apart. To me, Tomorrowland is kindof an.. umm.. baren wasteland and there are many ways that they could improve the area. The thing that makes me the most angry is seeing that peoplemover track waste away. To the extent that it can't even really be used anymore. Ugg... Isn't there anything they can do?

I once developed an idea for a time travel ride for DCA (with Gyro Gearloose orchestrating the whole disaster lol). Basically it starts as a slow Fantasyland in the dark-type ride in a four-level building around the Paradise Pier side of the park. The story is based on time travel of course.. Eventually, once the cars get to the bottom floor they race underneath the park and high speeds, then come out into a show building on the opposite side of the park, do a quick run through the building on that side (even making an Alice-type appearance outside), before racing back underground and ending.

I had an idea for a Wall-E attraction and a Meet the Robinsons attraction, even though everyone is sick of Pixar/Disney characters in Tomorrowland, so I would just turn Buzz into Adventure Thru Inner Space and make the targets you shoot at viruses and micro-monsters. The Wall-E attraction would be a new ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter where Buy 'n' Large is presenting their newest product, a robotic butler/home security system. Unfortunately while the butler is presenting himself, he malfunctions and turns on his home security system, thinking the guests are intruders, causing the Alien Encounter portion of the ride. Then Wall-E saves the day or something like that. As for Meet the Robinsons, it wouldn't be an attraction but a dinner show thing. The frogs from the movie will be sized down to animatronics and placed either at the Tomorrowland Terrace or the Pizza Port.

First of all Disneyland should get rid of "Star tours" and "Honey, I shrunk the audience " and replace those with real 4D attractions, overhaul autopia and enable the people mover and pleaseeeee make innovations interesting with futuristic stuff

I'm satisfied with Finding Nemo: Submarine Voyage because the submarines are back and the lagoon is being used.

However, I'm hoping that Honey, I Shrunk The Audience will be replaced by another show. Maybe the return of Captain Eo?

The thing that bothers me most is that the The Peoplemover/Rocket Rods track is just simply being let to waste away. Most of the track isn't being shown in the Disneyland map anymore, which somewhat tells me that tomorrow isn't being as bright as the song was sang. It'd be horrid if it were to come back as an The Incredibles ride. That would not make any sense to me in Tomorrowland. I know the return of Rocket Rods is impossible becase of previous problems, but what about The Peoplemover? It can be reverted back into the way the track was. They could close Tomorrowland on the month that's not busy at all, like October. That way, they wouldn't worry much on not getting enough money because Tomorrowland is closed.

Sincerely, a brother of a half-demon,
Sesshomaru-sama

I rather dislike the Astroblasters. It's boring, and something else could be put in there. But I guess lots of folks like it, especially kids, since they "get to be part of the ride." I've never liked it, but there you go.

It's simple really, bring back the Tomorrowland Walt envisioned!!
Another thing, NO MORE PIXAR RIDES! We have enough already!!
Oh and an Incredible themed Peoplemover just doesnt sound right! The Incredibles wasnt based in the future, but I guess the Peoplemover is the Peoplemover, I hate going into Tomorrowland and looking up at that empty track, it urks me! But I am glad they are using the Lagoon again, the Nemo theme doesnt really bother me.

Sadly Disney doesn't care anymore, they just want profit, but apparently they are going to go through a big turn around soon and recover from the three stooges that were Harris, Pressler, and Eisner. What Tomorrowland needs:

A Wall-E attraction
A Meet the Robinsons Restaurant and or Attraction
An unthemed PeopleMover (Tomorrowland Transit Authority)
Adventure Thru Inner Space
A Time Travel Ride into the Primeval World and Ice Age.
A BLAB and HITSA Replacement
Star Tours 2
Something in place of Innoventions
The Old Rocket Jets back in place and the same
Less Pixar
No Incredibles
No Monsters Inc. (although I think the Laugh Floor would make a good replacement for HITSA)
And lastly future household appliances like robot maids and cooks displayed behind windows alongside the BLAB and ST buildings.

I've always liked the idea of replacing Innoventions with a mission:space type ride. It'd make sense for future space travel.

I always though Test Track would be good in place of Innoventions and it would use the old PeopleMover track as the outdoor part, but now Radiator Springs Racers is coming across the park, so ya. Would Disney build another Mission Space after all the injuries reported from it?
