Default What parade would you want?

I love the disneyland traditions and was a HUGE fan of Parade of Dreams. But when I saw this new parade I literally started crying, I just thought it was such a loss for Disney... Oh well Now onto the good stuff! I was thinking if I could have any parade what would it be... PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN! Just imagine pirate ships sailing along the streets of mainstreet along with up-beat music and the funny characters of Jack, Elizabeth, and the rest. That would be wonderful... If you could choose any disney theme for a possible new parade, what would it be?

idk but DL used to always had a new parade each year. They had Lion King, Mullan, Hercules, Goofy, and Aladdin parades. All the parades are based on just one movie.

But now they last to around 3-4 years instead of every year.

I have had this kind of work in progress in my mind, which I call Walt Disney's Zip A Dee Doo Dah Parade. I would like it to have some of the many DIsneyland attractions in it, and have the finale float being the Mark Twain Riverboat. The parade would have a show stop with ZADDD a la POD style, with the the end having streamers, represinting each land or attraction, popping out of the many floats.

The street party is such a let down. It can't even be considered a parade. There are just so many things wrong with it. I can understand why so many people dislike it. I personally loathe it. I can't even believe they've decided to show it as the parade for the 55th anniversary! Come on.

I must be one of the freaks who actually likes the Street Party. I must admit, however, that it's a bit of a bummer that it will be the 55th parade, too.

I'm not sure about a whole design for a parade, but I've always thought there should be a Mary Poppins float of some kind. Either a Jolly Holiday one (Bert, Mary, and penguins) or a Step in Time one (rooftop, Bert, Mary, and chimney sweeps).

I like rodhen's idea. It would make a great parade for the 55th or 60th. I, personally would like to see an updated PoD, like a sequel of sorts

I'd love to see a couple of floats that dedicates The Haunted Mansion. I had this idea in my mind of having 5 guys be the Singing Busts. Their bodies will be hidden in the marble poles that holds the busts and the mens' upper chests and up could be exposed and painted white and start lip-synching to "Grim Grinning Ghosts".

Sincerely, a brother of a half-demon,

^That would be fun! That is my favorite part of the ride besides the hitch-hiking ghosts, have you ever noticed the lop-sided one kinda looks like Walt? rodhen's idea could also blossem into a small world type parade, but with different floats from the different Disneylands around the world.

I would want one that just celebrates the company or something. I wouldn't care what floats were there, but I want to hear one of Walt's quotes echo through the parade.

and about the singing busts, that is actually not walt. does look like him, but that is Thurl Ravenscroft

I agree with the lot of you who said that they loathe the new parade. I hate it too. I also really hate that they're keeping it for the 55th. Come on, really?? They could do much better than that! But who am I to say? I just think, they should bring back PoD and expand on that, make it better. I just don't want to see the recent one... bleh.

Well, you'll have to go dig out about 4 floats that are in rubble in a scrapyard somewhere hehe.

You just made me sad. What next? They destroyed the DEP Blue Fairy? (Please don't answer that one, I know what happened)

I agree with Disneyland DHI: hearing Walt speak during the PoD made it special. It was just a magical moment when everyone paused and there was his voice. I loved that.

I like the idea of a Haunted Mansion float, but I'm not sure if people would really go for a parade about the attractions. While I like the idea and I'm sure several other folks would too, the majority would probably think something like, "These rides are already everywhere I look! Why would I want to see them on parade?" It's fun to think of designs and concepts for Attractions floats. Perhaps a float dedicated to each land? That would be interesting.

^ That would be pretty interesting. They could copy the original plans for each land and a float dedicated to each, just like you said. That would be an excellent idea!

lol, the "original" plas would get a bit hectic, last time I saw the original plans I thought what a difference. It has been a while, but do I remember a "liliputian" land?
