I'm just wondering what you think is the most important aspect to be a good face character at Disneyland. Is it the looks, the voice accent, or body laguage or just the spirit of that specific character?
I think the spirit is the most important thing. I don't really care about looks as long as you're generally close to looking like that character. For example: I met an Alice once that looked nothing like her (I know the real Alice is animated, but still), but she acted and caught the spirit of Alice. So just wondering. |

Well I think it's important for someone to look like the character they portray, but they should also carry themselves like that particular character. I saw this woman a few years back that was dressed as Mary Poppins, and I swear she was the spitting image of Julie Andrews, and what amazed me more is she sounded and acted just like her. It was incredible.

You can be trained to act and talk like a certain character, but what's most important for them is that you look like the character.

I feel that it's the look. Sometimes it just annoys me when I see a character that doesn't look like the character portrayed.

with the obvious looks and "being in character" aside, the best face characters are the ones who can make a guest's day, making as many guests as possible feel special by including them (individually) in moments worth remembering (you know, the kind that stand out in a vacation or visit for all you APers)
