Well, since there are five, they each represent each decade Disneyland has been opened.

I only know that much I don't like the crowns. Someone can take over.

Dayna's almost correct correct.

One has the eye of Mara hiding in its curves
One has the blue fairy in tribute to the Electrical Parade
One has a blue rocketship in tribute to the ever changing tomorrowland
One has Tinkerbell probably a tribute to princesses
and I believe the next one is the mickey shaped crown.

I could be way off on the last one though.

Well, a poll is pointless because Disney has published what the corwns represent:

Quote:
Each of the finely detailed and sparkling crowns represents a decade of Disneyland history and will feature iconography from each particular decade:

Tiara One: The creation of Disneyland is represented by a pair of famous ?Ears? peeking up over the horizon to see the wonders to come.
Tiara Two: ?A World on the Move,? otherwise known as the ?New Tomorrowland? of 1967, is represented by rocket ships and accented by opalescent planets.
Tiara Three: The beautiful Blue Fairy represents the debut of the beloved Main Street Electrical Parade.
Tiara Four: The Indiana Jones Adventure is represented by the evil Eye of Mara, guarded by mesmerizing snakes.
Tiara Five: The 50th Anniversary of Disneyland is represented by fireworks and Tinker Bell.

While waiting for the fireworks we became buddies with a CM from corporate Disney doing crowd control. She told us that the crowns are plated with real god and that the jewels are real gemstones. Can anyone confirm this, or was she just pulling our leg?

My guess is the corporate person was either pulling your leg or sadly misinformed (or wishful thinking.)

Can you imagine the cost of gemstones that size?

Haha sorry to disappoint you, the crowns are not real gold, nor do they have real jems. Like the rest of the castle's gems, they're plastic.

If they were real gold and gem, then that would be awsome.

QUOTE ru42 Here are some of my zoomed shots of the Castle. See the larger image

I stood and looked at the castle on my visit but never saw all the detail in the 50th anniversary decorations. To be honest I did think they looked better in person than by photo's I had seen. This even makes me appreciate them more. Amazing what a good camera can zoom in on.

I am also so impressed by how quickly all my curiosity is answered here on VF.

Thanks again CB
