Default We love small world, after all

I've just noticed that Small World is hardly ever brought up except to say we'd hate to get stuck on it, and maybe it's haunted. So lets pay some homage to it and say the little details we LOVE about this fantastic ride that truly captures the disney spirit...
I for one love the surfer dudes in hawaii, and th cancan dancers of France, oh and if i'm not mistaken there's a boy holding onto a balloon flying in circles in one section of the ride.

I also love the smell of Small World! that's all for now.

I love everything about it. Don't understand why people bash it here. My favorite scene is the Africa scene with the hippo and laughing hyenas.

But most of all, just the memories. I remember being mesmorized by this attraction as a baby. And the best thing next to that was watching that same expression of bewilderment in my baby brother's eyes 17 years later.

Mostly I love the squeals of delight and the looks of pure unadulterated joy on the faces of my daughters when we ride it.

I love the way they play one song in so many different styles of music.

IASW is my dad's favorite ride, and partly because of that, I visit it every single time I go. He first rode it the year it opened. He came to Disneyland with his boss, who was seeing DL for the first time. Dad didn't want to go to DL, but his boss had seen IASW at the World's Fair and really wanted to see it at the park. Dad said he was in a horrible mood that day, but IASW boosted his spirits so much that it is his favorite ride to this day.

I love everything about it, from the smell of the chlorine to the ideal that we all start out as children with big dreams. I think it embodies the spirit of Disneyland. I'm not sure what my favorite part is, actually. I'm smiling from ear to ear the entire time I ride it. I love the holiday overlay even more. And I really love riding it with my kids. My 4 YO daughter is entranced the entire time, and my 1 YO son loves waving at all the dolls.

But I do remember the time I rode it when I had the big revelation that the shiny ribbon hanging from the ceiling is the rainforest. I was probably about 10, and I felt all smart for knowing this, like it was some big Disney secret.

I love IASW. It was my dad's favorite ride and going on it reminds me of all the times we went when I was a kid.

I must admit that it's a good ride to relax on.

I really enjoy It's A Small World, even though most people hate it. Maybe because of the song, because I grew up riding it, or maybe its just the fact that I dont visit the parks frequently enough to be as annoyed by it :)

It's a beautiful ride, from the concept art to the finished product, and it has the feel of artists and engineers experimenting to find the most fanciful and simplest solutions to presenting the ride to guests. It doesn't have to be high tech. The spinning "fires" on the volcanoes are a good example.

The music, too, is simple, and catchy enough that it can stick in your mind after hearing even once. It's fun hearing it sung in different languages; it translates well.

And finally... it is a true Disney classic!

My friend and I LOVE Small World! It's nice to relax on, it's a classic, it's fun to look at all the different nations, and we love the song.

What a coincedince it's also my dad's fave ride he said it makes his day very very happy cause he is actually astounded on how they made all those dolls and put the music so it "comes in and out" depending on which "region" ur in (I.E. In Mexico it sounds in spanish and so on)

I actually like this ride and when i went on the 1st time I was sooo happy and I was about 8 yrs old! I still like this ride and I haven't been able t go since almost 4 years on that ride because the last 2 times I went to DL i wasn't able to go on 'cause of time Oh well This ride rocks HANDS DWN~!

Thumbs down Thanks, Mom!

iasw was my mother's favorite. She collected dolls, and was just in love with the ride. I don't remember being very keen on it, myself. Last year I took a ride in her memory and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

Originally, I didn't want to go on it... It's legend preceeded it. But my friends from down there dragged me on it, and lo and behold, I actually enjoyed it quite a lot!

I think the main thing that impresses itself upon me is that it's isn't a ride as such. Sure you ride through it, but what you're riding through is basically a giant kinetic sculpture by Mary Blair. In essence, it's a work of art so massive that you have to see it by boat.

I found the song to be far less annoying than I expected I would... There are even a couple parts, like Hawaii, where I even enjoyed the arrangement ^_^

So yeah, I quite like it. It's not one of my favorites or anything, but I'd make sure to ride it any time I go.
