Default The Voice of Disneyland

Hello!

One of my favorite little details about Disneyland is the voice that announces everything over the loudspeakers. He announces the start of the parades, the shows, and pretty much anything else that needs to be announced. Does anybody know who this "Voice of Disneyland" belongs to? I'm interested to know who it is that makes the announcements.

Thanks!

just the opening spiel. It used to be a little different before the 50th.
I actually have it on tape somewhere cause I used to make a memory tape for myself when I would go :)

Yes Thunder Mtn's safety spiel had to be changed to include "keep your hands, arms, feet & legs inside the car & watch your kids" and a Spanish version immediately following. Many other attractions had to have similar alterations to their safety spiels.

His Name is Bill Rogers, "The Voice of Disneyland." He actually has a direct phone line from his home that will connect him to Disneyland if at any time they need him to do an emergency broadcast. Really cool stuff.

Yes, If they are having anything done, they usually get him to record it, and he probably mails them a CD, or upload the voice to a secure server.

When are school went to Magic Music Days, he announced us in Main Street, and said where we were playing. Used the school name and everything, not sure if he did it live, but I'm sure it was pre-recorded. However, if Disney drops the ball, and forgets about an event, then he can do a live announcement. From his house, or his Studio.
So If he has the cold, there in big trouble!

For those who are interested, for many years the voice was Jack Wagner, and he also had a similar setup, with a recording booth in his home. Many of the old recordings, for example the introduction to the Christmas Fantasy Parade, the Matterhorn spiels, etc. are done by him.

Default working from home would be cool!

Yep. Totally amazingly awesome.

I'll tell you what. Today's technology is so great! Rapid, convenient, reliable data transfer is an incredible tool, indeed.

All you need now is a decent microphone, decent pair of headphones, small mixer, a PC or Mac, and an ISDN line and you're off to the races....
