Wow...talk about unconventional. Just a friendly reminder, just because you have a good camera doesn't mean you'll get good footage.

In day yes, inside, maybe.
It's handles both really well.

This is NOT a good idea. You are better to bring a crappy camera than a Macbook Air...

Again...I strongly suggest against this, no matter how bad the laptop is.

Please don't bring the incredibly expensive piece of equipment on Splash...! I can picture a bad outcome with that...

Don't you dare bring that on (in my opinion) I just have a feeling it will end up messed up. As much as I would love to see the outcome of the video, because Macs are awesome when it comes to videos, I strongly disagree with bring a computer on a log ride. I mean say it out loud and it sounds hilarious.
"Excuse me, may I bring my expensive laptop and use it while I video record splash mountain!".
Sorry this is just a bad idea

If you REALLY think you would get a superior quality video from a single ride-through, which is nearly impossible, and if you are willing to take the very real risk of destroying a truly expensive piece of equipment to obtain this nearly impossible video, then go for it.

Do check with the attraction CM first....You could end up with a video treasure. Then again you very well may end up soaking wet holding a piece of useless junk which used to be a valuble computer. If the former happens, you're gold. If the latter happens, just look for the nearest trash can.

Personally, I wouldn't do it.

Oh boy...
Our school went to a broadcast Journalism convention, held at the DLH, and we took our Canon GL2's into the park, and got great footage in the dark rides. We were going to do Splash but the line was too long. We have full rubber cases the cameras go in, to make them 100% waterproof, and we use them when it rains, but don't do that with a laptop. Go out and get a GL2, or something else. GL2's are about 2,800$ but you'll get a good camera, and still have a working laptop. If nothing else, get a panasonic palmcorder, they do great at night, and you can get a case. Those are 400

You should buy an actual camera... Much more convenient when the camera is easy to grasp and control in your hands than lugging around a clunky laptop for recording things WHILE in motion.

I also have an iMac. I LOVE my mac. My experiences has been much different than Tomserwin. Apple has covered both issues that I had with my iMac, no questions asked, with a smile! That said, I wouldn't take my mac anywhere CLOSE to water. I have far too much stuff on my computer that I wouldn't want to end up losing, much less having to have new guts installed and start all over! I have a great digital camera that takes awesome video. You can go to Sports Chalet or other outdoor sporting store and purchase a water tight case for very inexpensive to protect your camera investment.

I really do suggest that you don't take your notebook there. No matter where you sit, you will get wet. That's why the warning sign says "You may get soak" instead of maybe getting wet. Plus, the 50-foot-drop doesn't seems like a good place for a laptop to be. So, I really don't think you should take it on there.

Sincerely, a brother of a half-demon,
Sesshomaru-sama

...and if you do take it (you shouldn't) dont go on in the morning or after it breaks down because you will get more wet then when the ride has been running for about 4 or 5 hours!
