I don't remember the smell of diesel from the submarines but I do, however, remember the smell of exhaust from Autopia. Now, whenever I'm in Ensenada or anywhere else that has that smell, I suddenly remember Disneyland.

Sincerely, a brother of a half-demon,

all 5 steam trains run on diesel. the water in the tender makes steam for the trains to run. then the diesel comes out of the smoke stack. the engineer opened the firebox for my son to see it one night. the fire was low and then the fireman opened the valve to make the train go faster. then the fire was going really good.

^ I guess I'm confused. Why does it need to run on diesel if it's a steam train?

the steam from the water makes the train go as i explained. the diesel is what they use to light the fire in the firebox. i have the walt disney's railroad story i bought back in 1997. it is a book that i own and it has full details of all the trains from all 4 theme parks.

^ Oh I get it now. I didn't make the connection between the diesel and the fire. Thanks for the explanation.
