Snow in August

So, I was at the park yesterday and I was surprised to see the area from Blue Ribbon Bakery to The Refreshment Corner all decked out in holiday decorations. Two of the gaslamps even had their 50th anniversary stuff taken down and replaced with wreaths. And the shops had snow on them (did the stores have them the previous years?). I asked a CM and it turned out they were getting ready to film their holiday commercial.

I'll post a couple of photos in a few hours. That's it and I'm glad I got to watch RDCT again!!!!

Okay, I breathed a HUGH sigh of relief when you said that they were filming a commercial. Imagine if they were actually getting their Christmas decorations up like a department store! Ick!

oh.. just for a commercial? good! i went on Monday and saw halloween costumes on display.. i was thinking "um.. everybody's still wearing shorts... isn't it a little too early?"

well that figures Disneyland would be filming a commercial, but how are they going to get people to wear sweaters and stuff in THIS weather?

For Real man. Just be thankfull that Disneyland is not located here in Vegas. It was 118? two weeks ago. LOL, and there's talks of building a six flags here !!!! hahaha! yea right!

This is California! Don't we wear shorts all year long? I was at the park last November when they were filming the Disney Christmas special that aired on Christmas day. It was 90 degrees that day and everyone was in shorts, t-shirts and tanktops! They gave some guests Mickey Christmas ears to wear to make it looke more like Christmas time. I felt sorry for the preformers because they were wearing jackets, scarves, pants and gloves pretending it was cold! It was really fun watching myself on TV Christmas morning!!!

^I'm sorry to burst your bubble DLRgoer, but the Disneyland Christmas special is NOT live! I know, I was shocked too. All these years I sat at home on Christmas morning thinking how lucky those people were to be at Disneyland on Christmas day! They actually brought out a few parade floats and they went round and round the hub for about two hours as they filmed and Ryan Seacrest did his thing pretending to talk to Kelly Rippa at DisneyWorld. It's a cruel world isn't it?!

Actually, I was there on the 15th as well. And I heard that they were to film the commercial after everyone had left. Im guessing they were going to have it snow. And perhaps they only brought out a few people or even 'actors' & extras hired before hand to dress up. The nights are getting a bit cooler, and I bet they had plenty of ice cream on hand...just incase anyone got too cold.

Again, word of mouth. From a CM friend to VF...can't promise that's what /really/ went down.
