Default Should Autopia stay?

I have mixed feelings about this because Autopia has been around since the park opened and has become a fixture in what we all know as Disneyland. However, with the new Cars attractions at DCA (I'm thinking specifically of Radiator Springs Racers), would it make sense to remove Autopia from DL?

The upside is obvious: additional room in TL in which to add new attractions. The downside is the loss of a signature DL attraction.

This is a purely theoretical question as I cannot see Disney going to the trouble and expense of doing something like this in the wake of the huge investment they're making in DCA. Just curious what everyone else thinks about the idea of no Autopia at DL...

I will say without hesitation Autopia should stay. It is a classic ride and will always be.

It should stay, and be revamped into a part of what's all going on with the American automobile industry.

it would be the perfect place. Tomorrowland's all about imagining the possibilities of the future, and there hasn't been a time in American history where people were more in need of an optomistic look at the future of American automobiles than today. It's a HUGE opportunity just sitting there for Disney and one or more American car brand (Ford, GM, etc) to join forces and really stun us with how awesome the future of the car really is.

That's what I'd like to see anyway.

I agree with this completely. Totally reminiscent of the early days of the park when there were these joint ventures between Disney and Corporations were based on genuine forward-looking projects. The timing today could not be more ideal for the auto industry. Best commercial they could get for themselves.

My gut reaction to this question is...NO, I dislike (ok hate) that "attraction", completely, entirely...with the tacky Vegas like ads and the stinky cars, and the line takes forever...need I go on? BUT, PMM made such a great case for why it should stay, but be revamped, something I never thought I'd agree with actually.

PMM, you are right on point...and eloquently so.

oooh can they make the cars hoover?! That would be awesome haha! Of course it should stay. It deserves to be spruced up a bit, but it needs to always be there!

I agree Matt. Well said.

I also think that as we get older, we forget how exciting it is to drive a car when you are little kid. I remember thinking that was the coolest thing, I got to drive all by myself

I say lets they should try something new. Autopia was a good attraction but I am sure the the imagineers can do something amazing with all that space.
