Hmm, let's see...

1. Been to Disneyland three times and I have NEVER ridden the Matterhorn! *Gasp!* I know, right?

2. As with some of you before me, never been in the Tiki Room either. But I love the song. So I should probably go in there next time... but for some reason I have the odd feeling that it'll be similar to the Lester's Possum Park sequence in "A Goofy Movie".

3. I think the Jungle Cruise is boring, so out-of-date that it's not even charming, and should either be updated or replaced. There, I said it.

4. I think The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is the best dark ride ever, and I'm quite glad it was chosen as an update for Critter Country, unlike the majority who seem to find its insertion to be annoying.

This shocked alot of my friends: I was scared of the Haunted Mansion from the time I was 4 to about age 14. And before that, I loved the ride. Not exactly shocking, but it is pretty strange. Now I love HM, as well as every ride in the park.
I kno, Im weird. =D

Shame on you! haha. Ok try this. make this the VERY last ride of the night. The skippers get kinda punchy and it's so hilarious. We've gone so many times about 2 minutes before closing and it's always the best. Once we went when it was so foggy we could barely see in front of us. Since we couldn't see anything the skipper just joked about random stuff. It was great!

Neither do I! Haha I'm going for Halloween and I'm so pissed that it isn't regual HM. I like Nightmare Before Christmas and all, but original HM owns.

I never went on Rocket Rods and kick myself for it to this day.

I rock out to the MSEP soundtrack when no one is home.

I remember the last time I went, we went on the Jungle Cruise and it was pretty late and it just seems to be funnier at that time!

Confession:

I went through a period in my life where I loved going to DL but I was sort of dead inside when I would go on Pirates and IASW. Because of that feeling I started questioning why I would continue to come and put down money to float by dolls. Really good and well made dolls, but essentially I thought of them as dolls and I was beginning to feel burnt out on those rides. I think it was at that point that I began focusing on what else DL had to offer besides rides. Once I put more emphasis on the atmosphere, the surroundings, the music, and sharing good times with friends or family I sort of matured in my way of looking at DL. Bit by bit it became not really a place for me to run and get on rides but more of a place to just enjoy everything around me. When I go on Pirates I still sometimes have a little empty feeling, but I try to look past than and look at things through the eyes of Walt. I've learned not to be disappointed with Pirates, which I used to call my favorite ride, because I don't place it that high in my favs anymore! Now I know I truly love BTMRR more and even the Mark Twain, but that I would never, ever go to DL without going on Pirates. It wouldn't feel right, for some reason.

I've also learned that once in a while I need to skip the HM because it depresses me. Yet I've learned so much on this website about how it is designed that I would love to go and concentrate on that. Major confession (I don't remember if I posted this before) ......for a few years I skipped HM out of a religious conviction or just plain weird feeling that it could actually be a center to welcome spirits and I didn't feel right about participating in that. I felt a little relieved when I saw a group of nuns getting into line once, though!

I've been going to Disneyland since 1965. At that time the only thrill ride at DL was the Matterhorn. I absolutely refused to ride it. The people screaming in the bobsleds just plain freaked me out.

Then Space Mountain, Big Thunder and Splash Mountain were added. Again there was that screaming. I just wouldn't ride them. I fact I never rode on any roller coaster/thrill rides anywhere. My idea of a thrill ride was the Teacups.

Then in 2006, on my 50th birthday (DL was kind enough to put up 50th signs all over the park to remind me how old I was) I took a 3 day trip to DL and decided enough was enough. Little children go on these rides, for crying out loud. I got on the BTMRR, shaking and quaking, and.....I really liked it. I loved it! More, I want more!

So I rode the other 3 Mountains and had the same result. I was afraid for 40 years of.....nothing.

These days I actually find the Matterhorn relaxing and I just kick back an enjoy the view.

A newcomer's point of view can be interesting.... I am glad that I started going so long ago. This seems like the kind of point of view that I am afraid my friends would have who didn't go until later in life.

Goodness, lol! I hope you find what we all have.

I mean, do you know what Winnie the Pooh replaced? You must know about the Country Bear Jamboree. Concept by Walt Disney. The concept art of the attraction was the last thing that Walt laughed at before he left his studio for the last time before he died. A quote from Wikipedia: "One day Davis was working on drawings of the characters in his office. Walt Disney walked in and saw the drawings and laughed because he loved the characters. On Walt's way out he turned to Marc Davis and said "Good Bye", which Walt was known never to say. A few days later he passed away on December 15, 1966. It was the last time Marc saw Walt."

The Tiki Room is a classic, designed by Walt Disney.

The Jungle Cruise is also a fantastic ride, designed by, guess who? Walt Disney, and the retro corniness of it is supposed to be its entire source of charm. It lets me laugh with Walt every time I ride it.

And no Matterhorn? Well, if I'd only been to Disneyland 3 times and didn't appreciate the history of it (yep, designed by Walt Disney again), I might skip it too if the line were too long (but it's long for a reason).

Perhaps a little research and some of the awesome documentary-type videos of the creation of Disneyland would be a help for you. I really mean it, I want you to find that magic. Anyone who would demolish the Jungle Cruise doesn't have it, lol...

I have never been in the Tiki Room. (I still like it though)
I have only seen one paraid.
The music from HM and HMH makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
When I was little I wanted to live in Toon Town.
The only places in the park that I have eaten at are The Blue Ribbon Bakery, Blue Bayou, and the French Market Cafe.

I have *gulp* never had a turkey leg! I KNOW!! It's just... well.... it looks so hideous! haha. I see people walking around with their slab of meat and I think "holy crow that thing must have been the size of a barn!" I just can't do it.
Another one... I hate HATE the darn snake in Indiana Jones. I try to pretend it doesn't bother me, but it scares the crap out of me! When it lunges, I think I die a little....
Not a fan of Autopia. I remember when it was so cool to drive a car, but then I started driving, well... a real car. Now I just don't find them magical. Unless my son is driving. Then it's funny :) Beedy little eyes over the steering wheel.
Last one... and this is a doozy.... I.... don't... like.................................... ........................................ ........................................ ........................................ ........................................ ......................................
Snow White. Yes folks, I said it. The original. The first film of it's kind.... the ride gives me the heebie jeebies!! Last trip I rode it by myself so my son could go with Daddy... no joke, I was freaked out. That witch just gets to me! When she turns from the mirror and cackles, AGH! I feel faint, I'm going to stop now haha.
