Angry This really makes me mad.

Sorry to the mods and admins because I wasn't sure what forum to put this under. I have seen three disneyWORLD commercials, that start out with Walt saying "To all who come to this happy place, welcome. Disneyland is your land". The narrator says "Disneyworld, the only place big enough to hold 50 years of magic" (or something like that). Disneyworld opened in the 80's. There is nothing magical about it.

Well....

The Magic Kingdom was opened in 1971. Epcot opened in 82 and Studios was 89 (I believe.) DAK came in the late 90's.

While DLR is the home and the original - I see no problem with WDW. Walt created WDW, at least in concept. He spearheaded the land purchase. Dreamt of it's size. It exists because of his vision and 'magic.' I find WDW every bit as magical as DLR - just in a different way.

I love both places. I haven't been to DLP or TDL yet, but one day hope to.

I look at the 50th as a celebration of not only DLR but the idea that there can be a place where the whole family can enjoy together.

I don't have a problem with WDW. I enjoy visiting both for different reasons. I wouldn't say all the Disney parks hold the same magic as Disneyland though. The only park that I think really has a similar magic to Disneyland is Epcot. The other parks I've been to are fun, but they just don't do it for me in that regard. I can say the same for DCA as well, so it's not just a WDW thing.

well i have been to all disney parks in the US and i find that all of them hold similar magic, but none can have the same as DL. abut i am disappointed in that comercial, Walt never said his opeing speach there, the make it seem like Walt like WDW more.

no need to be mad, Disney is Disney all made my the same man, just because on is a bit bigger no need to hold a grudge or nothing

I have never been to Disneyworld, but I dont mind that Disney co. is trying to advetise DisneyWorld. it gets more attendance then DLR because of its size, so I dont blame Disney for wanting it to become even more popular. what i do not like though is when DisneyWorld uses walts opening speach making it look like it was sayd at DisneyWorld. that speach is alllll Disneyland.

The real reason they are doing this is simple; Disneyland Resort is basically maxed out on Hotel room capacity (they are considering building a new hotel soon), however, Disney World is in the process of CLOSING some of their hotels due to lack of bookings. It's quite simple that they'd rather have people WDW right now, since Disneyland is already filled.

^ Yep, the Happiest Celebration on Earth at WDW has pretty much met a resounding thud. It's attracted some but what you see at Disneyland with the park selling out, hotels maxed out & 50th merch flying off the shelves is what they can only dream of in FL. Perhaps they're too big for their own good? This is always a danger with successful businesses...

I've never been to WDW, so I can't really judge it.

If this is the same commerical i've seen here in colorado it could get a little aggrivating. They superimpose Walt Disney as if he's making the opening day speech on main street in disneyworld instead of disneyland....they make it sound like disneyworld is turning 50. So i can understand why someone would be upset, not mad, but upset at least...
