Default RDCT projections...

ARE BACK!

Finally! The show was really lacking the projections on the castle and they are finally back. went to the park last night and didn't plan on getting a good spot since we had been in the park on tuesday and had a castle front spot...but i should've waited for a good spot. it took me a while to notice since i was way back by the lockers on main street but i finally noticed it during the haunted mansion part, i saw the ghosts flying up the castle. i'm very excited! we plan on going back tomorrow to get a good spot and watch the show how its supposed to be seen.

on a side note...the lasers, which haven't been working all that great for starters(the main laser has been very dim), weren't working at all last night. hopefully everything is up for tomorrow.

Are you sure you weren't looking at the ghost projections on the Matterhorn? The castle projectors were completely removed, and I haven't seen any evidence of their return.

i'm pretty sure i can tell the difference from a castle and a big white mountain. besides from that far back on main street with the trees in the way the matterhorn isn't even visable. they are back.

They are not projectors. During the 50th they were Martin MAC 2000 Profiles using gobos for the images. THey just recently replaced these fixtures with Vari-lite VL 3000 spots. There never was and never were projectors. They tested Pani Projectors before the 50th but those were removed.

Nope cause the lights just dont do images, they do normal lighting effects as well. Just a plane beam, that can also strobe as well. Plus its a mover which means you can program the computer built in to make the lights go in any direction. After you prgrom it you record thevements into the lighting console and playback the movements.

So you can program it to project movies on the castle with it?

No it cant do movies. Thats when you use a Barco LCD like whats used on IASW (Barco SLM R12 LCD Projector). A gobo is a round metal disc witha patteren cut into it, when passed over the light source it shines the image on the castle. Then you can program the light to move the image over teh castle or make the image spin grow or shirnk.
