I am sure they thought of that already and planned that out. Besides, Fantasmic only takes place by the now Lafitte's Tavern (horrible). But they will have to do some removal when it comes time for the show considering there is a few baracades along with a rope zipping across the stage and then there is the chest sitting out on the stage as well. Either that or Fantasmic now has a facelift to include some of these things in it. Hopefully it doesn't.

^ In other words, we hope that Fantasmic doesn't get a pirate "facelift" like Tom Sawyer's Island. Don't get me wrong, I love the pirates franchise and everything revolving around pirates, I just think that tinkering with Fantasmic's main storyline and/or effects to add to the pirates mix would be a little much. I wouldn't mind if they did something like add Captain Jack and Barbossa to the Mark Twain at the end, I would mind of they changed Peter Pan and Captain Hook to Jack Sparrow and undead pirates.

They don't need to do this because the original storyline had nothing to do with Mark Twain or Tom Sawyer or Huck Finn.

-crosses fingers-

I'm hoping that they realize this too.

Or they could just move the pirate stuff thst's in the way where cues and effects are and then move the stuff back where it was. Unless they have a problem moving it. But if they can move it, then I hope that it's doesn't have a "Pirate" makeover just like stitchhead28 said. And if that happens, then when Mickey makes his apperance, he would be in his pirates clothes. And that would be strange for the show. And the title would be called "Fantasmic! Pirate Style."

oh changing the storyline of fantasmic would be horrible.
but if they add barbossa or jack sparrow to the finale on the mark twain, that wouldn't be so bad...I mean they do have the chimney sweepers from mary poppens...they're not too popular...

That would be awsome. But where to build it? I don't know if there's enough room to build it like MGM's stage for Fantasmic! Remember, WDW is bigger than DL. They have alot of room to build WDW. Disneyland is trying to make it larger.

They could built it in the backstage of splash moutines and the winnie the pooh ride, were the big door is, to go the backstage of those two rides.

a couple friends of mine are in Fantasmic, there aren't any major changes to the show. the only changes are the barges or rafts that the princesses ride in have been upgraded with new lighting.

It already has a stage. We don't want our Fantasmic to be more like WDW becuase ours is more original. It is also better for not having stadium seating or bleachers to watch it too.

I hate to seem like a downer, but I feel obliged to throw in my two cents on these two posts...

Mary Poppins is an "old-school" Disney film in the sense that it had 2D animation. In this single (and most important) way, it fits in with the rest of the films included in Fantasmic! Adding ANY pirates to Fantasmic! would be a mistake and an insult to the tradition of 2D animation Fantasmic! has honoured for 15 years.

...And I'm not sure where you took your survey, but I'm rather fond of Bert, et al.

This is more a matter of opinion, but I'm going to disagree with you here on a few subjective counts. First and foremost, the nostalgia hits me in waves as I sit before the Rivers of America while waiting for the show. I'd hate to lose yet more classic memories so soon... Secondly, I find the argument "Well they did it at Walt Disney World and it's kinda cool so they should build it at Disneysand too" to be rather poorly thought out... Disney has five marvelous theme parks around the world, and it's originality and innovation that keep each park fresh, fun, and unique. Five identical Walt Disney Worlds scattered over the globe would be asinine. And finally, I think bleachers / a stadium are neither a feasible nor suitable expansion options for the area. They would destroy the New Orleans Square atmosphere and would limit foot traffic during the day.
