I've been a fan of POTC for the longest time (and I liked the movies too just because of Keira Knightley - don't eat me, Johnny Depp fans!) and it's a must no matter how many times I've seen it. One of these days I'll get a chance to eat at the Blue Bayou.

Well, it was anyway. There are only a couple scenes left in their Walt-supervised state. It's lost its classic feel for me.

Ahhh the ol' argument eh? LOL.

OK No argument from me other than my opinion of the ride, to each their own.
It's not a ride to me. It's now a wasted space with a poor marketing scam to sell movies. I don't find it interesting anymore nor do I feel it worth riding when I go. I would rather it be torn down and made into a different ride than see it like this. I have gone on it last time I went but I do my best to ignore the scenes now. I look at the track under the water, the lighting, trying to see behind the scenes. At least that is interesting. I am still confused why they tell you Dead Men Tell No Tales but then tell you They Do Tell Tales only to turn around to buy merchandise that say Dead Men Tell No Tales. Which is it?! LOL

My opinion has been stated... Again, to each their own. This is just my feelings.

I have to agree with others - the ride used to be my favorite, but after I experienced the new version this May, it was kind of ruined for me

Wow, great POTC fan turnout! Okay, what do you guys think of Pirates' Lair? I personally miss the old TSI, because I love Mark Twain books, but Pirates' Lair is pretty fun. I look forward to your feedback! =D

Pirate's Lair does not bother me as much as what they did to the ride.

I really couldn't care less about the changes..
(I'm more angry about the changes they're doing to DCA to be honest <_<)

But I admit that I have only been on Pirates 2 times before the change and I've never been on Tom Sawyer's Island.
So that "nostalgia factor" isn't there for me to be extremely angry.

Because the movies were such a big hit, they had to cater to the bigger audience, so us nostalgic people get left out.

Off the argument now...

The changes don't bother my too much. I still have to ride it every time I go, mainly because the bayou part is so awesome, I love the atmosphere of it. I could sit in that area all day.
The only part that really bugs me is the movie music in the big fight scene. At least they bring back the real POTC music as soon as you get out of that area.

I try to focus on all the stuff I used to focus on before the changes, but I do kind of get the cold feeling inside sometimes. It's like if someone you knew very well got a not so attractive face-lift and tweaked their voice. Underneath you still love them but it would feel like you were with someone who was faking it and like your friend never thought you were the kind of friend who could accept them without a major make-over. It just feels kind of icky.

I miss the music a lot and I really don't want any of the movie music in there now. It was okay at first, but now I want the classic ride back. I miss going through the tunnel and hearing the voice in there. It was simple and spooky. The Davy Jones curtain is a good trick at first, but after a couple of times you are like, "Okay, I know what this is." It doesn't send chills up your spine. I never liked looking a that octopus face anyway! Something that bothers me about that is, having an interest in pirates and ocean lore since I was little, it kind of bothers me that Davy Jones became a character with a face instead of remaining a just a legend with no particular looks.

Okay, I guess it's time to get off the soap box. I still enjoy the ride and I always will. For me it's kind of hard not to go in there and have fond and strong memories of riding the classic ride with friends, family, boyfriends, little ones in my life. I guess I always will focus on what has always been in the POTC instead of the changes. I do wish, though, that the music would be changed back since music contributes alot to my mood and memories.
