pirate sitting on the bridge is gone

i noticed that he was gone
and so i asked a CM where he went
the CM said the pistol he had broke and shot a peice out which hit a guest in the eye and so they took him out

does anyone know anything else about this?

AA's disappear from PotC all the time. It is usually for some work and maintanence. When I rode PotC on 12/28 the parrot next to the drunk was gone (but he was there.)

As I floated by I listened to see if the birds 'squaking' was still there. I was happy to note that the missing bird had his vocals removed too.

So, this isn't anything big - just routine...most likely.

When I went in August, one of the pirates that was holding a net and was supposed to be chasing a woman, the woman was missing so the pirate was chasing nothing.

Hopefully there aren't going to be some changes in the ride. It's a classic ride and it's the last ride that Walt Disney finished. I hope they don't remove the pirate and his bird.

Rolling rehabs of this nature are normal & probably shouldn't be taken as clues to future changes.

no wonder!!! the last time i rode it i knew there was something missing....i always laughed when the drunk pirate laughed...LOL...when we passed the bridge i was like...huh?? wheres the drunk pirate..but i thought i didnt pay attention so i just forgot about it..

Back on December 15th and 16th of 2005, the pirate and the parrot were both gone, yet their soundtracks were still playing.

considering the history of pirates, disneyland was probably sued by.... a pirate who.... had a parrot... and enjoyed sitting on bridges? who took offense. haha. just kidding. I have noticed little things like that on the jungle cruise, too. its probably just maintenence. or.. has anybody considered that he might come back in a different spot because his present spot might be occupied by jack sparrow or something?

Maybe the pirate is mad about the changes coming to Pirates of the Caribbean and he took a shot in anger and now he is in pirate jail.

The pirate of the bridge?? He isn't holding a pistol, He is holding a bottle of rum! He is the one that has the really funny laugh right? Hmmm... that is really weird. Maybe I am thinking of the wrong bridge.
