Default Old Disneyland Hotel

Greetings to all,

I've decided to create a post about the old Disneyland Hotel. I was asked by "oldhotelguy" to post a photo of the young lady standing next to what appears to be an "Edsel", I could be wrong though. Can anyone identify this young lady? I also found some great photo's of the hotel on a post card site. I will give there link at the end of this post. Enjoy the pics.
Brian

Credit for the photo of the young lady goes to this site.

Ah, good old marina. Just as I remember it. They used to have a little arcade room somewhere down there. I'm sure that's also been gutted out too.

Thanks for posting the photos though! But I'm afraid I don't know who the lady is.

My parents stayed at the Disneyland Hotel in 1966 for their honeymoon. I believe (and I can never remember this) that each night was like $20.00.
Something like that. They still have their receipt!

I have a Disneyland souvenir map from 1967 or 1968 -- it shows a Helipad (helicopter landing pad) as a "future attraction" for the Disneyland Hotel! (It also shows HM as a "future attraction" in the park!)

Yes they did have an arcade there. It was by Atari and it was in the middle of the lagoon between the hotels. It was underwater. You had to cross that bridge to get to it. From the upper level you could rent the paddle boats and cruise the lagoon. There was also RC boats on the corner that is now the entrance to the pool area right there. I miss that place as it used to be. We used to stay in the Sierra Tower I think it is. The one that is closest to the DL of the DL hotels. We made paper airplanes and threw them from the upper levels we stayed on and then try and retrieve them.

The RC boats were in the corner of marina tower and the business conference rooms/what's now goofy's kitchen building. I think I'm gonna start asking around online for anyone who has pictures of that pier bridge to go to the boat rentals and the staircase down to the arcade to the side of the little hut... and in the arcade too. I've never seen pictures from it and so it's only just faint memories at this point.

Let me check for a picture of this. I have over 7500 pictures. I remember having one of Jack Wrather in the arcade and it was sad because it was fairly close to when he passed away and he lokked terrible.

I'd love to see a picture of the marina and arcade areas also. Does anyone have any pictures of the exterior of Goofy's Kitchen? I don't know if it looks the same today as it did in the early 90s, or even if it moved.

Does anybody have any Monorail Cafe stories? I remember, the last day it was open for business. We somehow managed to obtain five or six menus. Man do I miss that place.

I remember eating there once back in the good ol' days. Doesn't make for much of a story though lol.
