i have now started a rockit mountain thread, because not too many people post threads about rockit mountain, so ill start the subjevt.


1. when is the debut for rockit mountain going to be?

2. what are the effects going to be like?

3. what type of soundtrack is it gonna be?

i heard from other posts on miceage that it might have the old soundtrack by dick dale. i also heard green day, and van halen.

has anyone heard anything else?

ok.. i'll take a shot at this:
i think rockit mountain will start next summer and the only thing that will be different is the music.
but i'm like 45% sure thats right.

What's Rockit Mountain?

Let me see...

1.Probably sometime next summer, but nobody knows the exact dte

2.I'm thinking it's going to be all about the asteroids and meteors that are possible hidden around the track (and not lit up). I'm pretty sure I saw some meteor sillouhetes (or however you spell it ). Also, since it's called RockIt Mountain, it could mean 3 things, rockets, rock music, and rocks (meteors and asteroids). It aslo wouldn't be that hard to change the video of planetary orbit in the queue to a video of an asteroid field. Also, canging the color of the first lift from red to something else won't be difficult. Another type of pattern in the blue strobe room could be fun to. Programming the video in the second lift could be really cool if you make the red bars into a spiral, or make it look like your zooming past meteors at light speed. The meteor near the top would be lit with blacklight, thats for sure. Go to http://www.rollercoasterpro.com/gall...d/sm_new.shtml for pics of the meteor (the big one at least). I want to see it glow under blacklight! Also, the top of the third lift could use the nebal effect that WDI was working on (go to http://www.mouseplanet.com/articles.php?art=mg051109gm to see what I mean). The end tunnel could also have a bunch of meteors flying by you, and a video of you running into a meteor, then the explosion where thay take your picture. Colors in the queue and loading area could also be changed from red and purple to all blue. I don't know. THE POSSIBILITTIES ARE ENDLESS!

If Disney Comes up with the time and budget they will change the mountain at night. Transform in into Rockit mountain. The music will be rockn roll, and some rumors are that the music will be done by Green day. The signs will be diffrent all saying Rockit Mountain. The effects inside will probably be different but nobody knows what they will be.

I think you mean FX, but yeah! That's a DEFINITE possibility (everyone saw PeoplemoverMatt's picture of the SM sign with Rockit Mountain in the background right?)

yeah i saw the sillohute of the metors it looks like that picture on rcpro was taken with flash so disney must be trying to hide that stuff.

I have a photo of the meteor in my gallery, click on my sig below once they reopen the gallery and check it out.

I have ridden SM 05 about 30 times now since July 1. I have seen the meteor lit up once and only once.

here's a question: if it does come to disneyland, how will they change it daily from regular to rockit? what i mean is will they close down the ride everyday like at 6 pm or something, switch all the effects or whatever, and then open it again? i don't really see how they could quickly change from regular to rockit.

but like what would it look like inside the mountain, i mean like how are they gonna do it, cuz in space mountain its all dark and stary, maybe rockit mountain, will be with flames, or smoke, that would be wayy cool? or maybe theyll have like something rocket rods related to it, like the futuistic noises or the red cosmos the rods used to pass through, either way, rockit mountain is gonna be way cool!

Im pretty sure that this is just a rumor. Even though disney "alledgedly announced" it. Im almost postive that they wont do it. Mainly because they would have to reclose it for more construction and if they were planning on doing it, they would of just extended the construction period. It was scheduled for for December but they wanted to open it closer to the anniversary so I guess it was in there origional plans. But I dont think rockit mountains going to happen. CM's told me that it wasnt going to happen and that was disney being disney and it was just to make people more excited for space mountain concitering that fact that it is the same **** ride that it was 2 years ago...
