[quote=PeoplemoverMatt;282771]The ride is still from Tomorrowland to Tomorrowland. Riders have the option of getting off at Downtown Disney, and riders may board from Downtown Disney provided they have valid Disneyland admission. However, once the monorail returns to Tomorrowland, all riders must exit.

when the park has a lot of people (around 45,000) then the Monorail only offers one way trips from tomorrowland to downtown Disney, and vice versa. if a guest wants to return to TL from DTD then they will have to go around and wiat in line again.

There's no hard & fast rule about that that I'm aware of. What sometimes happens when Disneyland becomes uber-crowded is that Disneyland Hotel guests have boarding priority at Tomorrowland station but that's about it. Even on crowded days, the queue at Downtown Disney very rarely is anything 'resembling' long. When it is long, 99% of the time it means that only 1 train is running on the monorail loop as opposed to 2 or 3.

Making everyone get off at Downtown Disney because Disneyland is crowded doesn't make any sense. That'd basically be penalizing people for wanting to ride one of Disneyland's attractions.

Well I was going to ask if we could ride in the front cone of the older models, but the guy in front of us in line asked and the CM said no one was alowed in the cones at the time so we were like "aww"...and they said something about the air conditioning being pretty sucky.

That's by far the most common reason for the cones being closed to guests. Even though none of the middle cabins have A/C, for any guest to be allowed in the front/rear cone, the A/C that is in them must be working. If it's not, the cone(s) are closed to guests. This applies to the Mark VII's as well.

The Hotel Guests Priority seating was done away with prior to the opening of Finding Nemo in 2007.

The one-way policy (which is a written policy in the Attraction's Operating Guide) assures that all of the people at he Down-Town Disney Station (which stretches to the turnstiles on the average Summer Day) can actually get a seat and make it into Disneyland.

If you look at the Disneyland station entrance you will see a purple and (traditional Tommorowland) gold sign with the Tommorowland "T" symbol on the front. if you look at the back of that sign you sill see that it is to inform guests that the Monorail is offering one-way trips only.

Interesting. I wonder what kind of enhancements they made to this one to make it more heat friendly to the SoCal temps. Outside of the new vents of course.

Darkbeer has taken some shots of the monorails sitting in the lot ready to go and be put on the track, which I guess will either be tomorrow or Saturday.

Orange is now on the beam. Let's see how fast Blue comes into service now. Plus I wonder if they may hold off on entering blue until Orange is also ready so they can then have a nice new celebration. I think it would be really cool if they brought in another political official like they did Nixon to re-dedicate the new monorails. I think it would be really neat if they did.

It's possible there might be another ceremony, but I doubt the President would be the ribbon cutter, especially with everything that's going on. Gov. Schwarzenegger would be a definite possibility, however. He did speak at the 50th Anniversary ceremony on July 17, 2005.
