Thanks! You're pictures tend to be awesome, so I hope you can get around to this.

On another site, I read that the red monorail is running throughout the day now, can anyone confirm this?

Yes, I saw a vid on YouTube of it operating during the day. No passengers, though.

Yeah, I read (maybe on Micechat?) that red is now actually carrying passengers during the day, but keeping a strict limit of 15 passengers per car.

Edit: Confirmed. Micechat's Andy Castro reveals pictures of a monorail carrying a full load of guests in daylight, the images can be found on micechat/miceage.

My Family rode the Mark VII last week on our visit to Disneyland!!! It was soooo clean....and the seating resembles the seating of the Jungle land Cruise boats...in a way. More efficient I think. But its just so darn Pretty red!

Does anyone know if its built on the mark III chassis? I know that the Mark V was just a new body on top of a Mark III chassis

Good question! According to wikipedia, the mark III's were stripped and the chassis used to make the Mark V's That just goes to how good the imagineers were back in the day. There still pretty good today, 'cept for all this outsourcing crap.

I saw the new monorail today, and all I can say is it's stunning!!! It looks a million times better in person, and it really looks at home on the tracks.

They're using reverse engineered parts on a brand spankin' new chassis. You can tell by how much smoother the ride is compared to the old Mark V's which had their own unique feel. Mark V Red felt different than Purple which felt different than Orange, etc. Mark VII's should all be nice & smooth for the most part.

Well, I certainly hope so, considering all the problems the monorails are facing.

Then why was everyone saying that it was the old chasis?

Well they probably know that the Mark V's were reversed engineered to build the new Mark VII's and the look of Red does look a lot like the Mark V's look, so it wouldn't be hard to jump to that conclusion. But in that making that jump, without proper information, certain facts are skipped right over.

When Blue comes out, you'll certainly notice it won't have the feel Mark V Red had. Mark V Red felt like you were rumbling over the beam like in a pickup truck. Mark V Purple had the smoothest ride of the fleet, so it's no surprise that it's the last of the Mohicans.

Are they ever going to actually expand the Monorail line into DCA or are they just going to leave it on that wimpy little Golden Gate

^Thats probably all its going to do for a while. If a third gate ever is built, then I'm guessing it may extend to wherever that is, but a lot of the rumors were said that it would go in the same place that Garden Walk was just built, so who knows. IF its miles away it won't be extended.
