This is great, but when these things are full of passengers it might get pretty hot from all the body heat. You mentioned it was pretty empty, but its a good sign that it works!

According to the OC Register the Monorails are now air conditioned. Disaster averted.

That's impossible! How can they be possibly A/C'd now?

Because everyone was just speculating that the A/C was the problem... no one really knew.

For all we know it could have been clearance issues with something else or maybe power issues with the track not having enough power to power the entire train. We may never know what the hold up was.

Yeah, that makes perfect sense. I thought that was one of the delays on getting it in service. Was there yesterday though and saw passengers on it. Fortunately, I didn't get around to riding. :-(

sorry. this is wrong. there is only A/C in the nose and tail cones. there are two fans in drawing in air though.

Monorail red was running again today had guests but broke down at about noon.

Due to safety concerns the new Mark VIIs are NOT loaded with guests if the park declares heat index 1. (95 degrees).

YAY! Now we have the monorail-equivalent of the wind cancellations of the fireworks!

[/sarcasm]

They have always had restrictions for the monorail at heat index 1. In fact they have to do more for the employees then the guests and this year it is really really enforced.

It wasn't completely speculation.
John McClintock*, the Disneyland rep, told the OC Register that the reason for the delays was adjustments being made to the A/C.

I track these things...

*(Doesn't he just have an awesome name?)
