Hm, very strange, the Max I've ever seen in my life is three. That just cuts everything way to close.

Okay here is a scenario for four trains.

Orange Has arrived at the TL station, and in a few seconds Red will arrive at DTD. Meanwhile Blue just left DTD and will be at TL in about two minutes, and Purple is on its way to DTD and will arrive in about one minute.
They can't load and unload in that sort of time window. Its usually about 4-5 minutes of load/unload time. With three cars running is much better, and gives them a bit more time.

Don't quote me on my times, but I believe that it only takes a few minutes once the car has departed.

I think its fine with just three but I kinda wish they would've made a purple Mark VII instead of orange.

Well I think having a 4th is a nice option to have in case one breaks down and it's a very busy day. besides... they do have the space in the round house to hold them since they already had 4 monorails before these ones.

I would personally love to see a Mark VII Monorail Green. That would be amazing.

I would love a green Mark VII too, but it really should be red, blue, and yellow.

That way it's all three primary colors!

Expanding the monorail track would require and be facilitated by, running at least 3 trains.

There's a reason why Magic Mountain is not restoring their monorail. According to the park's GM, it would cost less to build a giant roller coaster & theme it to death than it would to restore/rebuild the park's METRO system. Therefore, they feel like spending on the monorail system doesn't make smart business sense today.

Now if that's the case for Six Flags, you can imagine what costs Disney faces for their monorail system. I can't really imagine what sort of costs they're looking at for expansion/realignment of the Disneyland monorail system, but it shouldn't surprise anyone that there aren't any plans for the monorail layout right now. Especially with all the costs already on the horizon with DCA and the Disneyland Hotel among others.

I was at Disneyland two weeks ago and I was sitting in the cone of the Year of a Million Dreams one talking with the driver. She explained that they would use the red one towards the beginning of the day then during the night since there's still some flaws or it gets too hot to use. She said that the orange one was in storage waiting to be tested and I think purple was there too but I don't remember.

I did get a chance to ride in it and it was really smooth and fun. I saw the blue one being tested during the night and that was a great sight to see. I just hope the other ones will be tested on the track soon enough.

^The only purple is the Year of a Million Dreams one. They aren't making a new purple one, just Red, Blue, and Orange. And yes orange is their, but I don't know if they've got it up on the tracks yet.

I would assume that it would be a while before it gets put up.
