Fantasmic! never ceases to amaze me. As many times as I see it, it's like the first time all over again! The child in me can't help but smile when the lights dash about wildly in the opening, then Mickey Mousepops up! I'll always remember Captain Hook and Peter Pan dueling to the death on the Columbia, I always loved Peter Pan as a child. I was always hoping that one time they would let Hook win during his Fantasmic! appearance! But sadly, this wouldn't come to pass...

I will always remember the first time I saw Fantasmic! back in 1995. It was so much more than I was expecting. I was totally unprepared the emotional and visual impact of that show. Jumpin Jehosephat! That first viewing hit me like a sledgehammer. Bam! Spectacular!

I got so choked up I couldn't talk for an hour or more. I just sat there in a state of dazed Disneyfication until I recovered enough to leave the area. It still gives me chills when I think about that night.

My favorite version of FANTASMIC! would be DL. My favorite part has to be the finale with mickey on top of the mill conducting his fireworks
My least favorite part would probably be the nothing I like the whole show.

I know this is sort of blasphemy to say, but I actually like the Disney World version better. Don't get me wrong, I still adore Fantasmic! at Disneyland... but I think ever since the demise of the giant Ursula, the show has had a little too much of the waterscreen technology to fill in her role, and consequently a little too much waterscreen in the entire show. Again, still love both versions, but I favor the Disney World one more.

I also like that the Disney World version features more of the Disney films, even if it is in a montage. It's nice to see an updated nod to Disney classics. And I actually don't mind Pocahontas taking the spot of Peter Pan. They both work in the situation to me.

I think the larger palette of Disney villains in Disney World's version lends itself to a longer, more adventurous version of the story... although to have Frollo, Cruella and Scar added in was a little bizarre, as they have no particularly "magical" powers. Guess they're awesomeness makes up for that?

I've heard in certain circles that the show inspired the "Kingdom Hearts" video games, which is a neat thought. The collision of Disney films into one great adventure certainly screams both Fantasmic! and "Kingdom Hearts", both of which I dearly love. I always enjoy watching the Disney characters from radically different worlds bump into each other. Makes for some great storytelling.

I found a cool video on youtube and wanted to share it with people.
Fantasmic starts, but ends a little after it starts .
The audience was very supportive which I admired the most, but the comments toward the end were a little rude.
