Smile New Jungle Cruise

Hey everybody! I went to D-Land on Monday, June 20th and the first ride I went on was Jungle Cruise. There have been a few changes, which make me happy. First off, they added to the Gorillas trashing the camp scene. They added a young gorilla shooting a pistol and they've created new jokes to go w/ the scene. Secondy, they changed the rapids area. They added a "piranha effect" making it look as if piranhas are going crazy and the like. New jokes there as well. Then at the hippo pool they brought the pistol back and new jokes. And last, but not least, the only thing that kind of irked me, they changed Trader Sam.They also gave the new Sam a baby elephant. The joke change there was that the baby elephant is "half elephant and half rhino making it a eckifikno...hey there are alot of kids around"

Smile Pirrahna!

I love the new Jungle Cruise! My favorite part is the pirrahna. However, the second time I rode it, the water level wasn't quite where it should have been and I could see the mechanisms that lifted the pirrahna out of the water oops!

I went on the New Jungle Cruise for the first time at Grad Nite. Have they always had the ride open at night?...I always rode it during the day...but anyway...it was awesome. I felt bad for the tourguide person cuz he was telling the corny jokes to a bunch of high school graduates...I laughed but I was in the back. The pirrahna freaked me out, I knew it was coming because he stopped and all, but it got me. I didn't expect them to go super fast. But it was still cool.

I love the new pirrahna effect too! I was not expecting it to be so cool! I missed the gold boat by one-oh well at least we had a great skipper!

Yeah, actually sometimes, when the children are sparse, the jokes get kinda dirty

^ There is a little-known "adult" version of the Jungle Cruise spiel.

Oh it can get pretty bad. It's known as the "Grad Nite" spiel, because that's when they usually do it. I don't know if this tradition has continued or not.

There is a grad night version of the spiel, but when I was a skipper, few cast members were gutsy enough to actually deiliver it. I don't know how it is now, but they used to have secrect shoppers who would ride the boats randomly and then submit a written report to your supervisor. If you were found to be deviating from the s.o.p. spiel, they would call you in and reprimand you. I personally got called in for getting caught doing this joke - "Do you know the difference between the crocodiles and the alligators? Well. the crocodiles are made of plastic and the alligators are made of fiberglass." Anyway, I didn't get in too much trouble for that, but I was spoken to about it. The grad night stuff is really over-the-top dirty, and would have been cause for immediate termination. I never had the guts to do it, but I know skippers that did.

I went on the ride for the first time on grad. I don't think I heard anything too dirty. (But I do hang out with my guy friends who will say anything, maybe I just got used to that)

I like the changes to the ride. My favorite part was where the piranas attack you.

had skipperkyle been doing jungle cruise last night at grad nite, instead of being forced into club estrella, i'd have gone on and either whined long enough to get the adult version out of him or at least a fun alternate version. but alas :/

I love the piranhas, but they have only been "feeding" (ie. working correctly) once out of the last three times I've been on it. Must be tempermental little critters.
