But the fact it lunges towards the vehicle is pretty freaky... I almost sweared as I almost became its next meal because I was sitting closest to it...

yeah that was my barrier from an swear. I was all "HOLY SH-- Oh wait it's movements aren't real." What kept me from that on Ghost Galaxy was the fact I wasn't next to the ghost when he pops up at the end.

Whoa that's so lifelike! I'm happy they chose to replace that AA in particular, it's positioning has always bothered me for some reason.

No, the snake you see now is the new one that they installed during the 2004 Major Refurb of IJA.

The new one is more advanced and realistic than the old one.

I know theres pics of the old snake floating around the internet.

Hehe, boy, if people can even remember the old snake, try remembering when it last moved, lol. Thats the challenge!
I remember asking about that snake to the Disney people and this is what I got as a reply when the old snake was down for the longest time. This is an OLD email as you can see by the date.

7/27/2004
Dear Matt,
Thank you for your e-mail to the Disneyland Resort. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us. At this time the snake does not strike at Guests. Unfortunately, we do not currently have information as to when the snake will be in motion again. Please be assured we have shared your comments with the appropriate management. Again, Matt, thank you for contacting us. Comments such as yours are welcomed in that they assist us in evaluating our operation and our success in generating happiness among our Guests.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Ball

Would this be the older version? Or just faded paint?
