Default My First Solo Trip

On Thursday 8/31 I took my first ever trip to Disneyland by myself. It was a little odd not having someone else on converse with about things in the parks, but I had a pretty good day. I got there around 11:30 and started my day at DCA and rode ToT then went on Soarin' three times thanks to single rider, then I headed to California Screamin' and rode that four times after that I went to see Golden Dreams cause it was kind of hot. I made my way over to Disneyland and went to the First 50 Magical Years to get some video the the displays, and then just walked up Main Street and sat in the Hub and watched people try to get decent shots of the cast the Partners statue. I then noticed a camera on a ladder in Town Sqaure so I went down there to see what was going on, I asked the Cmc and they said they were going to film the Grand Marshall which was Meg, the dog with a hidden Mickey. Since I was there I saw the parade, I was near the gate to backstage and some the floats being arranged to go back the other way, it was funny to see them go backward. I then headed back to DCA and rode Soarin' and then had lunch and roade California Screamin' another four times during one of those times (on the blue train) after everyone had put down their restraints down they all popped back up and the CM's told us to get behind the loading gates and sent the train out empty. We got on the orange train and when we returned the blue train was on the other side of the station getting serviced. I then headed back to Disneyland and caught a BLB Nerf ball for my nephew. When I got to Disneyland I went on Tunder Mountain and Space Mountain and caught the 7:00 parade. Finally I waited for Remember and it went on with just a couple of minor glitches. Has anyone else ventured to the parks alone?

I've gone for a three day trip by myself...had a great time. It was a little wierd at first, standing in line all alone and eating alone. I got used to it quicky though. I'd absolutly go alone again if the opportunity came up. A few times I'd wish someone was there to run around with but the never lasted too long!

I love going to DL by myself! I can do whatever I want (attractions, shopping and food). And I love talking to tourists and CMs while waiting for Fantasmic!, POD and RDCT.

I ususally go alone to Disneyland, so I'm used to it too. I agree, it is nice being able to roam around to your own desires instead of what the other people in your group want to do.

I’ve ventured out to the parks solo plenty of times. It gives you an opportunity to see the resort and experience it at your own pace. I love it.

On my business trips to Southern Calif. I always stay at the candy cane inn. I usually finish business and return to the cane around 3pm-ish. I change close and jam over to the park for a few hours. I'll be there 9-11 thru 9/15 so I should be in the park those days. Being alone is different, but fun. I usually try to also meet up with CM's that work there so we can visit before/after their shift.

I enjoy going to Disneyland alone. I'm a very solitary person and I love the freedom that goes along with solo trips. I can do what I want, when I want and how I want without anyone yelling at me. I'd love to do more solo trips, but it's kind of hard to do without a license.

Sounds like you had a good time, Buzz. About half my trips last year were solo. I like it. I tend to want to do weird things like sit and watch little princesses meet big princesses, take pics of characters, flowers and buildings, ride the same ride two or three times in a row, go in all the shops, watch the parade AND fireworks and skip meals. Nobody in my family likes to do any of that so when I'm solo I can indulge myself without guilt.

I love it when I can get on Space at night (towards closing) when there are no crowds and you can ride it as many times without getting off!

I used to take solo trips to Disneyland and places until I realized that these experiences are greatly enhanced when you have someone there to share them with. Maybe I'm weird but when I would go to these parks alone, sure it was great, but part of me was sad that I couldn't share the experience. That's what make places like VF really great. Always someone there to share the magic with.

^ That was 'cute'. A couple weeks ago I was at DL by myself for six hours. I loved being able to do whatever I wanted. It's a pain to be stopped by someone in your group that needs to go to the bathroom every two seconds -.-;
