Default Most disappointing change at DL in the last 20 years?

Just curious as to what everyone thinks is the biggest bummer in the park since 1988.

I would have to say it's a tie for me:

-removal of the Peoplemover

-The growing 'dead space' around the park. Areas in which there used to be attractions, restaurants, shops, etc. that are now unused space. The PM certainly falls into that category, but so does the area previously dedicated to the motorboat cruise in FL, Plaza Gardens and Plaza Pavilion...

I understand that things will change over time at the park, I just wish that they would not allow these previously active spots to become so impotent.

The loss of the Country Bears!

I like Pooh and everything, but he could have gone someplace else.

Well, I have several that I would choose from and for me I guess it's all a tie.

The changed Tomorrowland, including the sad empty spaces and track that is there now.

The loss of stores such as the One of a Kind Antique Shop, the Gourmet Shop, the perfume shop. The loss of a variety of merchandise, making it hard to find anything but Disney merchandise. (For instance, there used to be great china in the china shop on Main Street.)

Within restaurants: The placement of soda fountains in front of the counter where they previously were in back of the counter, ruining the theme. The loss of some theming within some restaurants (Plaza Inn, French Market.) The loss of theming and the loss of table service in the Goldern Horseshoe. The complete loss of the Carnation Ice Cream Parlor with the typical old fashioned counter. The loss of the ice cream/hamburger walk up windows at Plaza Gardens.

The modernization of the Market House.

Replacing Country Bears with Winnie the Pooh.

The loss of some of the musicians in New Orleans Square and the change from having them perform to having them do "shows".

Oh, and I can't forget the loss of the Tahitian Terrace! (See my avatar.) When it changed to Aladdin's Oasis I ate there once and felt totally ripped off. Now it seems like a pretty useless space. I went to Tahitian Terrace many times and I remember sitting up front for the show, so close that when the fire dancer did his part of the show I could feel the heat from the lit torches. I say change it back to a Polynesian show and restauarant!

I've got a few:
-Removal of the PM, probably the biggest upset!! I never even got a chance to ride it :[
-Removal of Big Thunder BBQ, I LOVED that place!!! They had great food!
-Tomorrowland's changes and big empty spaces, i.e. the PM track
-Country Bears, a classic!
-I guess the Rocket Rods, at least there was something on the track!!!!!!!

I guess thats about it!

Bring back the Peoplemover!!!!!

Default upkeep in general.

The upkeep at the parks has been declining at an alarming rate.

Paint is chipped and dirty, the concrete (especially in Tomorrowland) is absolutely filthy, dust is collecting all over the place, there is dirt all over the place (I even noticed a dirty smudge/stain on the base of the PARTNERS STATUE, for goodness' sakes)...

It's just an all-around decline in care and maintenance. I think that if it's not treated like the national treasure that is is, Disneyland will become just another amusement park.

Oh, and once again, the embarrassment that is Tomorrowland. That's a given.

-The fact that there's still nothing on the former Peoplemover/Rocket Rods track.
-Replacing the Country Bears attraction with a Winnie the Pooh one.
-I was a little upset about the changes in The Haunted Mansion's attic.
-Out of date Innoventions.

That's all I can think of for the moment.

Sincerely, a brother of a half-demon,
Sesshomaru-sama

Main Street Electrical Parade moving to DCA

PeopleMover closing

Sky Buckets closing--I loved the Fantasyland loading area, it was so neat!

RDCT fireworks. Yes, it is a lovely show, but I am SO tired of people jamming up the streets, benches and sidewalks for hours to get "first rate" viewing! Disneyland is so much more peaceful on nights when the fireworks and Fantasmic are NOT showing.

The Photo Supply store used to actually sell cameras and equipment, but now it's only job is to sell and print pictures taken by the Disneyland photographers.

- Main Street Electrical Parade being in DCA. That made me so mad.
- Peoplermover being removed.
- Rocket Rods replacing Peoplemover.
- BTMR new spiel. I'm sorry but I love the original.
- HISTA still being there.
- Innoventions.

There's probably more but that's all I can think of.

What's wrong with Space Mountain it is better now? As for BLAB it was cheaply done because of Harris or whoever, it was one of the last attractions she approved but we won't be seing those again.

Space Mountain's a good upgrade though because it's been said that the old track had become unstable and needed to have a whole new track put in.

Mickey & Friends Parking Structure. Nothing says Disney magic like an enormous jungle of concrete.
