I was just wondering on a scale of 1-10, how scary is this ride? Also, are there any drops and if so, how big?

The ride doesn't really have drops, the the enhanced motion vehicles (EMV) that you ride in exaggerate every movement, like bumpyness, sudden dips in the track and other movements like that. The track, however is flat.

overall scaryness of IJA is not scary (Thrill wise), but provides tons of excitement. The themes and environments you go through can be frightening though. (Especially for first-timers)

overall, scary level, I would give it a 6/10, because, younger children easily get scared. Fun level, 10/10. One of the best attractions at Disneyland in my opinion.

There are a few drops, the largest drop is a little over 5-6 feet (Guesstimate).

Scare Rating: 4/10

IJA isn't scary for the average park goer. There are a few parts of the ride that may surprise you, like the dart room (which shoots air at you to simulate arrows) or the gigantic snake that lunges at the car, but these add to the excitement of the ride. There is one "dip" in the ride, but it's very small. My mom HATES drops and is very scared of thrill rides, but she absolutely LOVES IJA!

However, if you are prone to motion sickness, this might not be the ride for you. As Disney_Guy stated, the Enhanced Motion Vehicles make it feel like you are driving over rough terrain. So, the ride can be very bumpy at times. Also, if you or anyone you are traveling with is pregnant, this is definitely a ride to avoid!

What IJA really is that it is extremely bumpy and twisy-turvy. There are no major drops, like Disney Guy said, but I do have to make one comment that when you see the ball "dropping", it feels that you're dropping down below the ball, but it is just an exaggerated movement. Overall, since you are at least 21, I would have to give a rating of probably a 4/10. It's exciting, but not scary. Hope this helps!

this is by far one of the greatest rides in the park as every one else has said it can be quit bumpy at times and frighting at some points but I would worry to much about it over all scariness for first timers on it 7/10

Thanks a lot for the quick replies! I'm not sure how I feel about a 6 foot drop though. :P

Dun worry about it. A 6' drop is basically a slide like what you would find at a park/playground. If ya can go down a slide at a park, you can easily handle this ride.

If anything, this ride isn't scary at all. It's basically thrill and effects. You sit in a car, and drive through a temple.

Iunno, personally I try everything at the park. The rides are basically safe, checked and tested daily. Drops are identical to park slides (in how they feel). Loops feel like your going down two hills. *shrugs* Ya can't be afraid of certain rides forever. Just try it once... if you don't you'll never know what you're missing out on. =P

(((small side note: dun ask if stuff is scary or not, just go on the ride... the more ya wait and ask about this or that; the more you're mind will cause you to build a fear to it. Like how I got my dark ride-phobic bf on space mountain... basically I just pushed him on/ didnt tell him a thing about it. He ended up loving it, and wanted to ride it again. =P))).

It is no worse than going down the leaves outside on Alice in Wonderland.

Also, if you don't want to go on this, you are seriously missing out on a Disney classic.

Also, if you never went on Space Mountain, it is basically all the rage in the parks lately with its new refurbishment. It is a coaster, but is not intense at all, but is truly an awsome experience. I must say, when I went on my very first coaster with a loop, I was extremely scared and about to pee my pants, but I faced that fear and went on... And absolutely loved it. I say for you, face all your ride fears at Disneyland, and I guarentee you that you would love them all. Even if you don't, it will give you a great sense of accomplishement!

I'm not afraid of the ride, I just don't like drops. I'm totally going to get on this. As for SM, I went on it when I was younger, but I have'nt gone on the newer one.

Alright! The ride may be scary for children under 5 but if your child is mover 5 i'd say it will be alright for him/her. The ride doesn't have that much of big drops and bumps and all that but there is a scary climax to the ride where you go under a big boulder that looks it is coming towards you (it's just rolling in place with strobe lights, not scary at all) and you drop down barely hitting the boulder. V.J.'s Review: I'd say the ride is pretty cool it's a mixture of scary andd just pure fun! Think of a roller coaster in a room but toned down.. you know? Any way overall the ride is mild but wild and you'll love it, trust me! Hope you enjoy your stay at the Merriest Place on Earth during the Year of a Million Dreams! Disnator Out!

I was going to say if you have young kids with you they may be scared by some of the effects. Overall this ride is the best ride at Disneyland in my opinion.

Not scary, but very bouncy-jouncy. No big drops, but folks with motion sickness or bad backs should avoid it. Lots of being flung around. There are a few bits that could be scary, if you're not expecting them -- most notaby the really BIG snake, IMHO. But as far as imagineering goes, it's BRILLIANT! Great theming, from the moment you step into the queue until you exit. It is one of my favorites.
