thanks, now I know not to be freaked out! I thought you would actually have to walk on top of the subs to the entrance hatch with the threat of falling into the water. I know it was really stupid to think that. Hey look its the Argonaut ^^^ Its a returning sub along with the Nautilus.

Yes they have sort of a screening room for handicapped guests. Its on a screen about half the size of of a movie theater screen, and its got the surround sound and all that. Darkbeer had a picture of the roof of this bulding but i forgot where it went.

When the subs were made originally, there was no handicap laws stating they have to make it easy for them to get in and out of any building and such. Now there is but they can't change the design of those subs to allow that. So that is why they have the side section with a viewing screen. Heck a church I used to clean still has really narrow bathroom doors for the church and no wheelchair can fit through. Just a really old church.

it would be cool if there was a tiny elevator for the wheelchairs.

i have the vaguest memory of myself at age like 5 going on that old version once. It was crummy (for disney standards) because the effects were bad but i do remember climbing down from the top.

^Cool but it wouldn't work, The main reason is bc there is no room. Its either you have a staircase or an elevator. And having the elevator would take up a great number of space. Also it would slow wait times way down. Idk if it would work it might but who knows, unfortunatly disney doesn't have there priorities set on the thoughts of handicapped guests. (they have it set on pixar! )

Hmmm...that pic seems odd. In that pic, it shows guests boarding towards the aft(or stern) of the subs. When I saw the subs in the dock on 1/6/07 from the Monorail ststion, I saw the hatches toward the front of the subs. Did they switch the hatches and stairs' locations on the subs?

Yup, that's exactly how I remember it. Although I do remember slipping a couple times on the stairs because it was wet, it wasn't all that bad. The only thing that was irritating is when they had a little kid on board who couldn't handle the closed in spaces and started screaming at the top of their lungs

^Well its the only time most people ever get to be in a sub, the fake fish do move around, they are in little caves, you go into caverns and look at electric eels, crabs and the so called lost city of atlantis. I liked it when i was young

Well why woould any of us want to ride any of the rides seeing as all the characters are fake and are either cardboard cutouts or AAs? There was a story to the ride and they would show you different things just like any of the other rides would. Sorry, I don't mean to sound mean, not my intention here. Just trying to put it into perspective.

Sure the fish were/are fake, but there's nothing fake about the fact you're in a Submarine & you're underwater in that Submarine.
