Default How would you go in the subs? (The New upcoming Nemo ones and old ones)

I'm sort of an expert on Disneyland but I never really got how you would get in the subs. My dad has gone on the ride and told me the top of them but I don't get how.

Yeah. Everyone would line up in front of the sub, and then one by one, you went into the top of them and climbed down this ladder. I remember being in a dark hallow room with a bunch of windows on the sides, but I don't really remember too much more about the ride. I hope that helps.

Yeah, I remember going on the old one, it opens up at the top and you go down below from the top.

^^ I don't think it was like that. I think that they just let a certain number of people onto this platform, and you just stayed in line how you were, and get in one by one. I could be wrong, but that's how I remember it.

Pretty much the same way before. One would walk over a ramp onto the top of the sub and go down in either the front or back hatch and down the stairway.

Thats correct, when i was little i loved this i've been on it a total of about 15 times. So there is a front and back hatch, and the you go down a spiral metal staircase and into the subs. The seats were kinda like stools pretty big stools tho, and everyone gets there own window. A problem tho is that the CM's would close the hatches and jump on them, and not to be offensive but one time the cm closing the doors was a pretty small guy, and the door didn't seal all the way and it leaked. Later on no matter how hard any of the cm's jumped on the doors, they'd still leak. The new subs are most likely going to have a motrized hatch that locks itself.

I wonder how they've made them ADA compliant? How the heck do/did handicapped guests get down the stair/ladder and into the seats?

There is one row of seats per side, each seat getting its own porthole. You go down the stairs and ALL THE WAY TO THE END OF YOUR ROW.

It is not a high-capacity attraction so expect long, slow-moving lines.

I heard guests with disabillities will be escorted to a room where they can view the experience on a TV or something.

What??!! That is hardly the equivalent. It was my understanding that ADA required equal access to the same facilities for wheelchair bound persons. A TV experience is certainly not the same. Or it could be that the subs were grandfathered in since they were built pre-ADA and although refurbished, they have not been significantly restructured.

You’ve just climbed down the entrance ladder and taken a seat in front of your own personal porthole. A stream of cool air blows from beneath the porthole to keep you from feeling queasy.
This was taken from Yesterland. I hope this helps you out on a count that I never went on the Submarine Voyage.
