Default Hittin the Hay...Sad Fireworks and Maynard

Just got into bed after closing the park.

Caught Maynard gave him a big VF howdy. Told em he's talked about fondly and often.

This was after the RDCT Fireworks were abruptly halted right at the end of the HM section. I felt real bad for those folks who this was there only chance to catch the show. I asked Maynard how often that happened and he said it was very rare.

Anyhow had dinner at the ESPN Zone. Spent some time at The Vault. Got to the park at 4pm...didn't ride our first ride till 10pm.

Oh...and I hate the Space Mountain Music. Sorry if you like it. I miss the cheezy Dick Dale version. This orchestrated version just felt weak. That's it for now. Over and out.

Ouch... it was bad enough when they were toying with our emotions, saying the fireworks probably wouldn't happen that night, the wind was bad... but then they would... then they wouldn't... but finally they did anyway. It's a shame, but if they had to stop the show, it must've been for a very good reason!

And I agree 100% with you on the Space Mountain music. It's tempting to bring along an MP3 player and try to synch up the Dick Dale version. Has anyone ever tried that?

It was kind of a strange feeling to know the show reached the safety parameters. Like I said, I feel bad for those who that was their one shot at seeing the show. But...Cest la vie.

RE: Maynard...you should catch him if you can. He said he's works very little he did his Menehune Radio Commercial for us.

RE: Space Mountain. When did they change it to that soundtrack? In listening to Space Mountain's audio recording...which i great by the way...It's a fine song but when you're on the ride it just isn't frantic enough. And the level was really low. And the takeoff countdown is really behind, you're already at speed when Countdown Dude gets to Zero.

Again...Cest la vie.

No worries. Like I said...It's a great piece too. Just not frantic enough for my taste for the ride. Yet another objective argument sparked by Disneyana.

I much prefer the current track to when there used to be no music at all, that's for sure!

Although, it would be fun to ride it in the quiet once again. Not as a permanent thing but I would so love to ride it with no audio once again.

The tomorrowland section is where it will frequently get cut off for safety reasons midshow. But really they pull the plug at any moment if the fire marshall says stop. It's happened quite a few times, though it is still rare because generally you hope that the conditions are either good enough to do the show or bad enough that they won't be able to start them to begin with.

I was just getting off the Jungle Cruise when we saw the fireworks stop completely. I felt bad for a few of my friends I was with that day because they were only staying one night and I had two more to go.

I miss the old Dick Dale soundtrack but like the new one just as much. The newer one seems to fit this version better than the Dick Dale music would have.

You're lucky to have met Maynard. Thanks for extending all of our greetings to him.

Finally, I have to remember to bring a flashlight on my next trip. I wanted to show my friends where the Eeyore sign in Indy was, but the kind Cast Member we were talking to didn't have his flashlight either. He did show us where a Hidden Mickey and a profile of Indy are visible on opposite sides of the projector room.
