The ride does move a little faster than it used to. Its now about 3-5 minutes.
Okay: Haunted Mansion Holiday; Love it, hate it, favorite Nightmare Before Christmas character, and why.

I personally love HMH, mostly because I love Jack Skellington with all my heart. Its between Jack and Zero for my favorite characters, because they are both just so lovable!
Peace out! =D

When I was on the Mansion yesterday, it was so darn dark in there that I couldn't see the person next to me for most of the ride! I know it's dark, but it just seemed extra dark.

I think the HMH overlay is really well done. I like the music and I like the Jack Skellington AA in the graveyard. Obviously, the ride takes on a completely different tone as HMH, but I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

The only downside is that it takes a month to put up and a month to take down and it's there for like 3 months. That takes an awful lot of time away from the classic HM ride and that kind of bugs me. I wonder how much longer HMH will be around.

The Ballroom/Pepper's Ghost scene in HMH is quite good. They put an incredible amount of detail there.

As for the new bride, the old attic was a lot scarier. And louder. When those heads popped up they really screamed and I jumped every time. But I do love one thing about the new bride and that is the crazy, crazy look in her eyes. Where did they find that face? If I opened my front door and saw that face and those eyes looking at me I would swallow my tongue or something.

I have only been on The Haunted Mansion once at gradnight, though before I had watched ride throughs, and even I noticed alot of the speil missing.

Though something cool has happened on that ride, we were stopped in the conservatory right at the coffin. it was cool getting the chance to get a good look around.

as for the bride, I hand experenced the origonal bride so I can't make a choice one way or another.

Believe it or not the new bride was made by Marc Davis who as you know an original HM creator, passed away before the new bride was installed. The imagineers got the idea from the stretching portrait of the old lady on the gravestone, and one of Davis' many never used changing portraits depicted a lady leaning on a grave then turning into a lady leaning on a grave with an axe as her husband's ghost sat by her. So the imagineers go their basis from Marc Davis. As for the pop up ghosts that used to live in the attic, I think they could of stayed if they became the heads of the bride's groomsmen, it would of worked if you think about it. The original jumpers still operate they just only come out during the holidays.

As for all those who hate HMH, there is a simple reason it is still around. It is popular! Next time you go to Disneyland look at the lines for the haunted mansion, then come back in the holidays and look at the line. Big Difference! I like the overlay but I don't think it should be the same thing each year if you have noticed the only thing new they put in there each year is a different gingerbread house, that's it, they need to go in there and add some more scenes.

They need to slow it down so people can enjoy the ride more.

I think I did kinda notice that it was going a little faster last time I went on. As for the narration, I don't remember it being any different but I may be mistaken. If anyone has a recording, I would like to hear it.

The Haunted Mansion, the regular version that is, is one of my top 5 favorite Disneyland attractions. Sadly though it goes for hibernation until late January. In the meantime, you have Haunted Mansion Holiday from late September to early January. The only problem I do have with it is the operating time. It should be reduced from late September to early November. The regular version fits with Halloween a lot more.

The other thing that bothers me about the Haunted Mansion is that they took out the "Do not pull down on the safety bar please...", "All of our ghosts have been dying to meet you...", and "Perhaps Madame Leota can establish contact...". Those lines help the narration flow more smoothly.

I do agree that it does go by a little faster and I don't really like it. I liked it when it was a bit slow. I love the attic scene since the renovation and it's become my absolute favorite part since then (aside from the ballroom and graveyard scenes).

It needs the hatbox ghost! With todays technology the Imagineers can create wonderful animatronics and special effects. I heard a rumor that the hatbox ghost will be returning for the mansion's 40th anniversary which is just next year. Every year after HMH the attraction is tuned up so let's hope it gets a good refurbishment for the forty year old!

Well, I know the the "dying to meet you" and "trouble getting through" appeared for a short time after the 07 holiday overlay.

When I was there last April, the two lines were not there. But it doesn't bother me as much now because at least you get to hear the foyer music more. However, the true "Do not pull down on the safety bar please..." is not there. Although the one they do have now does a decent impersonation of Paul Frees, it's not the same.
