Default Haunted Mansion Holiday Too Long?

Does anything think that the Haunted Mansion Holiday runs too long? I think it does, a month too long to be precise. The Haunted Mansion really should shut down right after Halloween so that the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay should run for 2 solid months instead of three. Also, the regular version of the Haunted Mansion is more meant to be run on Halloween than the Nightmare Before Christmas version.

I agree that the overlay runs too long, especially considering the house is shut up for a considerable amount of time to install the overlay, then another considerable amount of time to take it down. Nightmare Before Christmas is a Halloween/Christmas story. My opinion is that the overlay should open on Halloween and close just after Christmas (or shortly after New Year's Day to catch the winter break crowds.)

I like the overlay, and I think it deserves to run that long. All of the characters are from HALLOWEEN town, and its themed that way. Pumpkins are a symbol of halloween, and the HM is full of them. One thing as well, regular HM runs all the time, except for those three months. They know it isn't for Halloween but when they see Disney change it, they know it is.

I LOVE HMH! I think it deserves to be there for both Halloween and Christmas! I think it was genius that they started doing this. I agree that it sucks that it takes them so long to put it up and take it down. Remember the days when they seemed to be able to do massive feats overnight? :) But hey, it's a great experience and I think totally worth the time it gets!

They won't bat an eye at this because anything Halloween spooky related has been taken over to Tower of Terror in DCA. That's become the spooky-scary around Halloween ride at DLR.

when I think of the tower of terror though, I don't even think of Halloween! Kinda like the normal HM doesn't make me think of Halloween. I think the overlay just makes the movie come to life for the two holidays. Something different for a few months. I'm a HM fan, but it's nice to have a few months to experience something else and start to miss the original HM...makes if more fun when it comes back :)

I really like how it runs during both Halloween and Christmas. The overlay probably seems long to people who go to DL fairly frequently, but if you go only once or twice a year, it's a nice little holiday treat. Plus, the music that plays outside HMH is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

i for myself also would like to see HMH since ive only seen it in videos and it looks pretty great

I think the large overlay actually let ppl that only go once or twice (like the person above said) see it even ar non-holiday times For example: lets say the Overlay would only be for Halloween and the put it down and put it bak up for Christmas(which is really dumb if they actually would do it that way) the ppl hu woukd go for early November and maybe even late november wouldnt get the chance to see it. They put the overlay so the dont have to take it down and put it back again (Im sure everyone knows that). They also don't take it down after 2 weeks (or 1 week) after New Years cause they want ppl to see it after it is taken down

It's cute once, and then after that I'm done. I think HMH runs ridiculously too long, and should only start AFTER Halloween in late November perhaps. It loses all 'cuteness' when my vacation always falls in October, and I never get to see the original.

The regular version of the Haunted Mansion is more designed for Halloween than Haunted Mansion Holiday. It would also make more sense to have It's a Small World shut down during September for the holiday overlay. It's not fair that the Haunted Mansion has a longer holiday span than It's a Small World.

There is no reason why the Haunted Mansion should have it's overlay changed in September. It's way too early to think about Christmas. Now November, it's a different story.

Id just be happy to SEE since they dont run it at WDW. But then again by Nov1 they have all the Christmas decorations up, which I HATE. Dont get me wrong I love Christmas but serious, Nov 1st?? Guess Thanksgiving isnt really a holiday to Disney they blow right past it. With HMH kinda geared as both Halloween AND Christmas, and seeing how to Disney Christmas season starts As soon as Halloween is over I guess the amount of time its up at DLR covers both periods

I like the HMH it's fun to see and go to every time I visit it in November and the time length for it is fine with me.

I think that HMH does run too long. I would rather have the HM for Halloween. It also makes sense to me to have it during October. If you wait until after Halloween and open the attraction during Thanksgiving weekend and only have the HMH for December. Than the attraction would closed down for 2 months for only 1 month of change which doesn't seem worth it to me.
