Default HalloweenTime: Lame?

is it just me or is this new HalloweenTime kinda lame? I mean i love how Disneyland and DCA are finally actually decorating for Halloween, but from what I read in their newsletter and such, it sounded sooooo much cooler.

For one thing, the decor isn't THAT great. i mean MainStreet looks cool and all, but it's nothing over the top special. and the decor is only on MS. and the Pumpkin Festival thing I saw with Miss Cobbler and Jackie the Policeman was about them teaching about Halloween safety. they sang songs about letting parents light jack-o-lanterns! it was nice, but i thought it could have been so much better.

HMH is good as usual, no beefs there. and I really like seeing Big Thunder Ranch being used. but other than that...there's not much Halloween.

Over at DCA there's...what? none of the park besides some banners is decorated! there's Golden Screams, which was a rather cheap show. I did like the new characters at ToT though, and I'm thinking that they could theoretically stay there forever since they fit in very well. but other than that not too much.

maybe since this is the first time, they wanted to see how it would be. so maybe next year there will be more. what are your thoughts?

I'll be a judge on Saturday, hopefully.
And that's when I'll message back on this.

But think of this as well, the deco JUST went up.
Maybe it's a 'gotta give it a week' kinda thing. =D

Question holiday rollout

When they install new holiday decorations, don't they usually start with Main St. and work from there? There may be more coming?

Mind you, this is the first year they've done it, so I would think of this as a pilot program to see the public's reaction. If everyone likes it, they'll step it up for next year.

I am planning to go on the 28 but I want to know something. Since they are selling special entrances for the 'halloween treat' at 6 something, does that mean that everyone else has to leave?

Yeah, I agree with you. Also, I love the pumpkins all around the shopping windows with there unique style of what store its in, may it be the sewing pumpkin head or the pumpkin tea pot in the coffee shop. And those changing pictures, there kinda creepy. My thought on it, I love this Halloween Time, hope they do it again next year.

I just went to DL last week. I somewhat agree, but I also do realize that this is there first year doing it.
However- One thing I would love to see is, The Haunted mansion being themed up More "haunted" perhaps some cast members dressed in proper attire. Such as maybe some outside theatrics, including the hitchhikers at the begining of the ride, other than the holgrams they have already. Maybe have a cast member dress as the Bride, and walk around outside by the lines. And Then after haloween, start the annual nightmare before christmas decorating. Nightmare before Christmas has more of an after halloween christmas time feel. I think it would work better post oct.31st.

Cool Save Christmas till after Halloween

I agree, MattMuerto. I think the schedule for the Holiday overlay is too long. If I visit on Halloween, I want to see the classic. HMH is too Christmas-y. Maybe they could get Kat Cressida to actually walk the park dressed as Constance. That would be scarry.

^you bring up a good point about the mansion DeadMatt. The holiday overlay will come to an end, and they will absolutely have to do something to keep the Halloween spirit alive (pun intended! baduhm-buhm). Don't get me wrong, I love the HMH and Christmas. But Halloween is the funnest holiday of them all. Disneyland can really make Halloween time an opportunity to come up with something that can top the holiday overlay...................if done properly.

-nice signature BTW. too bad it can be used as your avatar (which is cool too!)

I hate it when Parks put up ONLY some of there Decoration for a tester to see if people like it, how can people rate thing if there only HALF done. the way I see it if there going to do something for Halloween, they should put up something like it is a Christmas time, then let people rate it.

but other than that i like the Holloween thing at DLR althought i've never seen it other than HMH.

I think Kat Cressida is only the voice of Constance.
