Unhappy February 17th

I went on last Friday the 17th and it seemed to be crazy busy. I was really surprised because the day before on Thursday it was relatively calm and we got to ride a lot of rides. Of course it doesn't help that my two friends were a couple of primadonnas and didn't want to stand in ANY line that was more than 30 minutes long. Also, they stopped Fantasmic in the middle of the 9pm performance because it started pouring rain, and subsequently canceled the fireworks, and 10:30pm performance, even though the skies cleared rather quickly. I was disappointed, because I was only there for 2 days, and Friday was kind of a bummer all around. Any thoughts or comments? Maybe I was the one being the primadonna....but even DCA was crowded, and I don't know when I can afford to go back again.....

I went on Friday too. My friend and I were upset that they cancelled the shows, she's never seen Fantasmic and i really wanted her to see it. Pirates of the Caribbean, Disneyland railroad, Orange Stinger, and Winnie the pooh didn't have a line though. Neither did Splash Mountain around 10:30, but my friend didn't want to catch a cold on that ride so I was forced to skip it. California Screamin' had at 40 min. wait, Roger Rabbit had a 60 min. wait, but we only waited 30 min., and Space had a 60 min. wait. I was really hoping it wasn't going to be crowded since it was raining....but I guess theres always next time.

Rain does seem to ruin pretty much everything. Over the years, I learned that you have to be on a lookout for weather.

Right! President's Day (Monday) was a national holiday so a lot of folks were making it a four-day weekend. Rain? I've heard all my life that DL in the rain is very special and have tried to catch it a few times, only to have it clear up on me. I don't think folks think of rain as a deterent.

If you want a clue to when it's likely to be crowded at Disneyland, go check the black-out dates for the SoCal Select Annual Passport. If SCSAPs have a black-out, it's likely to be crowded in the park. (But stay away from Yom Kippur. We ended up there by chance and learned that many SoCA school districts are more enlightened than ours and have that day off. Most crowded I've EVER seen it.)

I was at the park on a friday in 2004 and it was sprinkling but raining during the fireworks. It still went on. I am sorry your day went bad on the 17th.

I was there on Saturday. My friends are not Disney people so they only let me stay in the park for four hours. I was so mad when I saw RDCT from the target parking lot. I was upset they wouldnt let me stay. The weather wasnt good on friday. it was pouring. I was at the Disney ice competition and the rain poured hard!

I just got back from Disneyland tonight (tuesday), and it was ridiculously busy. Let me repeat on a ....TUESDAY!

For reasons beyond me, they disabled the fastpass system and all the lines were outrageously long.

I only managed to go on four rides:

Pirates of the Caribbean
Winnie the Pooh
It's a Small World
Jungle Cruise

All in all, a very disappointing day.

I wondered why they disabled it? Today was crowded? Weird. Maybe some people making 5-day weekends. I hope March 13 doesn't get crowded(because I'm going there that day).

Yeah, apparently so. I was surprised myself. I thought that going mid-week was always a surefire thing. I guess not.
