Just got back from Disneyland and they had added a third showing of Fantasmic! at 11:30pm. I had never heard of them doing that before. The dragon really is a sight to behold in person. What a massive piece of machinery and awesomeness!

Yeah, I think they'll only add a third showing if the park is very, very crowded.

im going to be the black sheep here but..

Murphys way too small and the way its hands are in that holding position makes it look silly. the movement it does when it looks at Mickey and the cool effect when it is defeated is awesome though

How is Murphy too small? He has a much bigger stage presence than the older dragon, and when fully extended, he looks very tall.

Drifting from size issues, I saw him last night and he seems more fluid than when he first appeared almost two months ago, especially when he breathes fire (instead of just slowly raising his head, stopping, and then going back into motion, the raising was absent and the pause was only for the fire breathing). However, his head didn't appear to go as high during his death..............meh, I'll live.

This may seem like a silly question, but why do they call Maleficent's Dragon form Murphy? Why not just Maleficent?

The nicknames came about because the first one Bucky would buck or jerk around when the controllers were trying to make it work. The second, now Murphy, is so named because of Murphy's Law. The dragon had many technical issues keeping from appearing for the whole length of the Summer promotion with Murphy as the main draw.
That is the story pretty much in a nutshell.

Thank you for the clarification. Well, I hope now that Murphy is in the show, that Murphy's Law is no longer in effect and the bugs are out.
