My sis did the one on the sidewalk (they served her chocolate in many forms) when it was $29 and she said it was worth every penny. I told her last weekend that the price was up to $59 last time I checked, but that I was still considering going for the balcony at least once. Her response was, "Go for it!"

I did the balcony showing about 3 years ago. It was really great and I would love to do it again someday. We had front row middle seats and the view was fantastic. Desserts were really nice and the service was first rate. I felt it was well worth the money.

If you are considering the balcony as an adult retreat you may want to think twice. I specifically picked the 10:30 showing thinking that the possiblitity of children would be reduced. There was one child there a little girl (really cute). Until she stood up on her chair and started shouting "get him peter". At 60.00 per person, I was honestly hoping for a bit more adult environment.

Essentially, there is a reserved viewing area with a dessert buffet located in the disney gallery balcony. The balcony is small and will only accomdate about 20 people. There are two showings. One for each fantasmic showing 9 and 10:30. Cost is about 60.00 per person. Tickets sell out really fast. You can call 30 days prior to the show (I really recommend that you call 30 days out). Shows are often sold out the same day that the tickets become available. In fact, get on the phone at 8 am. There may not be tickets by 9, especially during high attendance periods. You can reserve tickets by calling Disney dining and placing your request there. You have to have a credit card and you are charged at that time for the tickets. You will pick up your tickets on the day of the show at the will call window and need to show them the credit card that paid for the tickets.

In addition to the balcony seating there is also Riverside seating which a little bit less expensive. I have never tried it but the people that have report that it is a very nice experience.

The following link is just about all that disney company says about this option on thier web site. It really is more of a word of mouth type thing.
