Hmm. WDW's would be a more suitable track because Cars is about a Nascar car and WDW's track is sort of like a Nascar track. But that takes away from themeing. And DL's could totally be themed to the movie both cars wise and Scenery wise.

Cool body style

I was just thinking of doing something really simple, like making the bodies on the Autopia cars like the bodies of the cars in the movie. Of course, everyone will want to ride in the Lighning McQueen car...

i read on the net at a differnet website last week and that posted that chervon wants out of the contract with disney. so they are thinking of making the autopia into a cars theme ride. so i dont know if that is true or not. so next time i go i will ask about that.

Cool sponsorship

Since Cars has so many corporate tie-ins, I bet one of them would sponsor it. Probably Goodyear. They've sponsored Disneyland before.

Quite true -- consider the following:

Snow White's Scary Adventures - Movie based
Peter Pan - Movie based
Dumbo - Movie Based
Alice in Wonderland - Based on a movie which was based on a book
Mad Tea Party - ditto
Tarzan's Treehouse - movie based
Swiss Family Treehouse (Tarzan's predecessor) - Movie based

...and those are considered "classic" Disney rides! If the want to do a "Cars" overlay on Autopia, I don't think it would necessarily be a bad thing; the experience of driving a "real" car - which is the thrill for most kids who go on the ride - would still be there.

What I don't understand is that if TOMORROWland is supposed to be about TOMORROW, then why don't they come up with cars of the future or something to do with transporation of the future? Not everything at Disneyland has to be movie based. Disneyland sure didn't start out that way. The only rides that were movie based in the begining were the fairytales in Fantasyland.

yes that is true, they are classics because they are old. The movies were actual walt disney made movies. Well some of those, anyway this park is called "Disney Land" And Disney Is a movie company so they had to make Disney Movie Rides. And thats probably why they continue to do that. Anyway i don't think they should have the overlay. And plus chevron's contract is almost up. A few more years i think. And good year sponsered the Autopia at WDW don't know if they do anymore but they did.

Ok, I asked yesterday and their is a possibility it may occur. Right now they are discussing it and they are debating weither or not to keep sponsorship with Cheveron. I also asked people what they thought and they all said they'd like the change.

Honestly. I think Autopia right now. Is stupid as it could ever be! The whole screen thing where they tell the jokes. Is dumb! And the jokes arnt even funny!!!!!!!! I think it needs a "Cars" rehab.
