Question Do You Think Autopia Will Change?

Because Disney is coming out with CARS, how many people think that they will eventually change the Autopia to be themed to the movie? I can't see why not other than Cheveron might disagree because of their sponsorship of the ride.

Thumbs down Cars + Autopia = perfect match

I think if there were going to be a Cars attraction, an Autopia overlay would be the perfect way to do it. I wonder why Chevron didn't didn't have a movie marketing tie-in? Maybe they felt the Cars characters were a knock-off of their Techron commercials.

Cool

I dont know how Cheveron feels about it, I say they'd be morons not to tie it in. However the problem is that Cheveron would have to pay millions of dollars to the rights of the movie. So I don't know what they'll do, they can look at it two ways; they might see it as wasting money to tie a little ride with a movie, or they could be smart and see it as a major way of advertising for years to come.

I hope they keep it as the 1955 classic it should be, but they probably will change it to tie in.

after spending all the money from the last update, i doubt they will change it. how do people know if the movie is even good? if it bombs (which i doubt) they would not want to theme a ride after it. i just hope it wont happen

I'm just saying It's the first Disney movie that they can apply to this ride, and now seeing what they're doing to Pirates it seems that the same excuse can be applied to this ride. I'm not saying they'll tear out and rebuild the ride, but that they'll change things to make it so it goes with the movie.

I like Autopia the way it is now except the ride always but my gas pedal leg to sleep, they should make the pedals easer to push down and keep down.

I think they'll wait and see if Cars is a hit or not (I have real doubts, to tell the truth). I think it would be cute, though.

I'm intrigued with everyone's apparent chagrin over rides based on movies. Maybe I'll start a thread, "Which Disney attraction is NOT based on a movie?" I think we'd find they are few and far between.

I would also wish them to make it trackless. Like Go-karts in Speed-Zone, making it more fun. For kids, they need adult supervision to drive the cars, when it is trackless. Back in the late 1950's, Autopia is trackless.

For those who don't know what I mean: I don't mean by 'Road.' Just remove all of the rails connecting to the cars, making it more free and maunal.

yeah trackless would be so much better in my opinion. The problem is the steering is very hard for kids (cause its not powered) and they might have collisions that could cause a jam.

Well as long as Pixar movies are the only disney animated movies making money are Disney Pixar Movies. Then they will continue this trend. Its nothing bad anyway. I dont see any problem. I honestly think Pixar movies are better than the other CGI movies around and you guys look down on them as if they weren't worthy of the title disney and the sleeping beauty castle logo and that really disappoints me because pixar movies in my opinion are far more innovative and creative than the movies walt disney made himself, they were just made after old fairy tales.

The 1955 classic died back in 1999!

I think it will change here or at WDW.
