Exclamation DLR Employee Housing

Been awhile since I started a thread.

Anyway, I was looking into stuff regarding housing for employees. I know there isnt anything right now, but I do recall someone saying something about it in articles around the net. So is it an official thing or what?
Any of you CM know about this at all. If you do, lemme know.

No. I heard that private contractors want to build affordable housing near Disneyland but Disney has tried a lot to stop that from happening near Disneyland because they think crime and vandalism increase around Disneyland. The thing is though, a lot of Cast Members have long commutes and many would love to live near by.

Disney does work with local apartment building owners and such to offer discounts to cast members. It's in the employee handbook stuff they give out regarding all the places you can get discounts at around the resort...like the CM discount at the McDonalds across the street! YEAH!

I second that, it is in the handbook.

But low-income housing has no place in a resort district if you ask me. First of all, it's valuable space that could be used for more resort options and to draw even more tourists.

The term, "Low income housing" spells crime to me. I'm a college student and am working my tail off to get by. But I work my tail off to live in a nice, secure community that I don't consider low-income.

I can do it, so can others. Bottom line: It's crazy to have anymore housing put in the already jammed resort district.

Hopefully with the GardenWalk's opening it will be a big flag that the space for those homes be reserved for future city tourism.

There are a ton of apartments throughout Anaheim and nearby Fullerton/Garden Grove.

I see the "Now renting/leasing" signs EVERY DAY.
