Default DL Hotel Tower Names

So, if facing the DL Hotel from DTD (on the far left, Monorail side, looking at the big blue Fantasia hat), which tower is which? I know the far left one is Bonita, but is the one to the right the Marina or Sierra? Also, which tower has the lobby? Thanks.

the one on the left is Bonita, center is Sierra, right is Marina

Sierra is named because before all the expansions and such you had a view of the Matterhorn mountain(you can still see it obviously but it's a lot more crowded with everything else to look at)

Marina was named because it opened right into the dock of the marina

Bonita means beautiful and you could say it's named for a scenic view over orange county but all you could really see is a bunch of undeveloped plots of land filled with brush back before Timon lot was built However it's really named for Jack Wrather's wife, Bonita Wrather(jack built/owned the hotel)

I love how the 'Marina' name is still there with no Marina in sight.

Such a travesty.

Miss the Marina :'( They better not change the name though. It'd end up "Princess tower" or something. And they need some homage to the most atmospheric memory of my life.

An interesting historical note. The original name of the Marina Tower was the Cerritos Tower. I saw some original blueprints from 1968 and read several inter-office communications all calling it the Cerritos Tower. Check out my website on the history of the Disneyland Hotel. I am adding several more historic photos shortly.

Yes, the Hotel's lobby is in the Marina Tower. The official lobby was originally located at 1441 West Street (which is now Disneyland Drive) and featured check-in from your car. You didn't even have to get out of your car to register! For a short time in 1955/56, the Hotel office was located in a guest room in one of the five original buildings. This was before they built the Administration Building.

Thanks everyone for your help! And thanks Mr. Ballard -- I've seen your book and it is great. I love the DL Hotel and its history -- great to see it long ago in its prime.
