Default Disneyland's Technology!

Which ride do you think has more technology?
1. Pirates of the Caribbean
2. Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
3. The Haunted Mansion
4. Indiana Jones
5. Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin

Now think about this. Rides like Pirates of the Caribbean use fully audio animatronics. Mr. Toad's Wild Ride makes paintings and cut-outs look cool. The Haunted Mansion uses technology to make moving animatronics transparent (that might just be holograms). Indiana Jones not only has a ride with realistic effects (except for that dart room; that was real fake), but it also has an interactive queue. Same with Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin, but the effects aren't as realistic and it is pretty much the only minor ride that allows you to control the vehicle at 360 degrees.

Indiana Jones by far. Fire effects, fog effects, lasers, photo projections, not to mention all the technology that the cars have making a tremendous amount of combinations so that you'd have to ride for months before getting the EXACT same ride twice!

I chose Haunted Mansion. Though it's kind of "old school" technology.

Indy, but I also have to call BLAB high tech, not cause I like it, I've never seen an arcade type ride like this before.

I can't honestly say that any of them could, in away way, beat the Indiana Jones Adventure. To say that any of them could beat it technologically would be an obviously bias statement.

well, all of them were technical feats for their time. indy is however, the one that has resonated the most with the disneyland fan base i think as far as realism goes.

I like the HM because I liked the effects that they used in the ballroom scene by using glass and lighting.

Indiana Jones Adventure is a "Tour De Force" of "Imagineer" brilliance. This ride touches bases on all five senses. Feel the heat, see the Eyes of Mara, hear the SFX, smell the excitement and if you are unfortunate enough to not hold on...taste the dashboard!

Unfortunately, I haven't "tasted the dashboard" since I was around 12 years old. I'm sorry to say that Indy isn't nearly as turbulent as it was when it first opened, but it's still one of the wildest rides out there .

*Back on Topic*

I would have to say Indy. On top of having a variation of effects to enhance the experience by over 200%, the ride has 2 of the biggest mechanisms I have ever seen for a single effect. The first is the mechanism for the hall of promise. Basically, it's a giant arm with 3 doors on it that change constantly during the day to give the illusion that the jeeps are going through different doorways constantly. The second one is the rolling boulder effect. You've got the ball constantly rolling on a hydrolic arm while the jeep is moving, while the entire hallway is moving! Combine that with the enhanced visual and audio and you have a simple, but effective special effect for a relatively small portion of the ride. It's imagineering at its best!

How do you know it was a jeep? Could've been a... Hummer without a roof?

Anyhoo.... I see why 80% of my pollers are choosing indy and 90% of my posters are choosing indy. And I can probably understand why 0% of both pollers and posters are choosing Mr. Toad's Wild Ride...No, wait, I lost it.

what does that have to do with your technology thread? I call it a jeep, everyone else calls it a jeep....but...you can call it a convertible hummer if you'd like...?

uhhh anywho. i like indy! exactly what stitchhead said! there's so many different effects on the ride, and that's what makes it s great, classic ride! in my own opinion of course.
