David Koenig AND Al Lutz in the same article? How long until they start chasing Brett down?

I think its a big deal because the Disney image is changing. Known for years for the clean cut, all-American looks of its employees, even Disney has had to accept that fact that it must change - slightly - or risk being relegated to the garbage heap of nostalgia.

I was much impressed on my recent trip to see so many people of color, people of size, and little persons at DLR. I thought it was cool to see the employees reflect the reality of the world I live in every day.

A Tower of Terror Costume costs $1000? Really? Sounds high...

Then again, I often forget that a Disneyland Costume includes
Pants
Shirt
Jacket
and then various rides have bonus costume elements like
Hats
Specific Socks (i believe the pirates socks are striped arent they?)
Belts

I bet a lot of the cost goes into the jacket, as it needs to be good enough to keep a cast member warm enough to work outside in the rain for long periods of time.

Another building houses costumes for marquee characters such as Pluto and Snow White. The most varied wardrobe belongs to Mickey Mouse, whose 500 outfits include scuba diver, astronaut, mariachi, scarecrow and George Washington.
I dont think I have ever seen a mariachi Mickey before. I have seen the others.

For those wondering about SCUBA Mickey, there's a pic of it on this page. Very, very cool! There's a pic of Mariachi Mickey towards the bottom of this page. Mickey has a HUGE wardrobe! Even variations on the same outfit - his Fantasmic sorcerer robe is quite different than his usual meet-and-greet sorcerer robe - most notably in the added sequin effect and much-wider sleeves.

Default La Times-Disneyland

Hey guys. Did anyone here read the LA Times today? My dad showed me an article about the Disneyland Resort having to change their character costume and castmember outfits sizes and styles to avoid skin damage from the sun and because of obesity. They showed a couple of pictures such as Big Thunder, Tower of Terror, and behind the scenes in the costume department. It was a very good article except they said that Big Thunder was located in Adventureland.

Norcal - please check existing posts before creating a new thread. Not a biggie - you posted in OT while this one was in Disneyland.
