| Peace | I've been thinking about this a lot lately, and I really don't know which opinion to take. Let me present my conundrum as best I can; hopefully you will understand what I'm trying to say. Do you think that characters from Disney animated classics should be "featured" throughout all of Disneyland, or just be confined to Fantasyland? *By "featured," I mean - have attractions based around. Like, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride "features" the characters from the Mr. Toad segment of The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad. The reason I am so befuddled by this issue is thus: I've always thought that each distinctive land within the park had its own story to tell - like, Frontierland, Adventureland, Main Street USA, NOS, ToonTown and Tomorrowland each have a distinct story to tell (Critter Country I'm not so sure about...) but you know what I mean. There's a definite "story" to NOS (if you should need evidence for some crazy reason - check this out). But when I try to think of the "story" behind Fantasyland - I'm really just left with a European village where the real "story" is actually the stories of the Disney animated classics. Don't get me wrong - I love the theme, and I think it's great. But I just feel that since Fantasyland is pretty much devoted to the Disney animated classics, should they be featured in other lands as well? I mean, what I gather from Adventureland is a mysterious jungle atmosphere in the 1930s era that we, the guests, are exploring/discovering. So it doesn't make much sense for Aladdin and Jasmine to be there with us. But the other part of me so desperately wants to see an attraction featuring these characters - or maybe even an attraction devoted to The Jungle Book - but we can't exactly put such an attraction into Fantasyland because the truth is, theoretically, these characters would just "fit" better in Adventureland... even though they might not. Ha. Ha. Does that make any sense? I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. What are your opinions???

| Peace | well sure, it doesn't really bother me at all for the characters in costume to be present in other lands; I'm talking about attractions about them - should the animated classics be given attractions in lands other than fantasyland?

![]() | Latley it seems to me the trend has been to put characters in places where they dont belong. Case in point Pooh, he's a stuffed bear and dosen't belong in Critter county. But I think they do this because these are characters that kids today Know and love and can understand. Think about it if you asked the average 6 year old who Davey Crocket is, they just kida look at you and go "who" but on the other hand ask them who Woody or buzz Lightyear is they can give you a detailed explination of all the details that you could ever want to know. Its kinda sad, but it seems to be the way the park is headed. IMHO it seems to be a way to get kids into Disneyland which can't be a bad thing.

![]() ![]() | I think the traditional Fairytale characters are best in Fantasyland. But I love Woody and Jessie in Frontierland and Buzz in Tomorrowland. And the 100 acre wood character in Critter Country. But I don't want to see the princesses walking around Tomorrowland. It is hard enough to see a Frontierland CM walking down Main Street carrying a backpack.
