9 months sounds great to me. The ride looks terrible and has for a long time now badly needed a refurb. The last time i rode it was a year ago and I hated it because the horrible conditions made me frown upon disney. It is one of the most famous ride in the world so it deserves to be updated for 9 months or even a year!!!!

I would not mind a refurb on ISAW, its a nice relaxing ride after walking all day at the Park. ALthough I must admit the dolls do freak me out, they need a bit of a face uplift. Especially, the water when I went there last year, I was a bit grossed out by the water. I would miss ISAW, but they gotta clean it up a little than it would be great.

They should adjust the schedule to have it open during the busy summer months. It should only be closed off season because it's such a people eater. Having it closed during the summer will be very bad for Fantasyland.

Let's just hope they don't add characters like Hong Kong.

It would be a good idea though not to have a Chucky the killer doll implemented in It's a Small World, especially the Chucky version from Child's Play 1-3.

Hmm. I didn't see anything wrong with it when I rode it in August. Maybe that's because it was 11:15 at night and I was quite tired. I also had the entire boat to myself with no one to bother me and I felt so lucky so everything seemed beautiful!

I don't think any ride would go through a 9 month closure, especially one that is such a "signature ride". Just a rumor.

Anyway, I didn't ride it for many, many years until August. I realized then how much I missed it.

It is in serious need of repair!! I dont care how long it takes either. There are dolls that have body parts that dont move, tons of the lights and bulbs are out, you can see where some of the walls aren't attached anymore. I think this ride has been ignored for refurb for too long. My entire family loves this ride and I would love to see nothing taken away or added, just improved. Well, I guess new babies would be cute!

Aw, man, it's gonna be closed for that long? Shoot. I'll be disappointed to go during this time due its closure. Mind you, it's not one of my all-time favorites, but I do like it and try to go on it at least once or twice each trip. Maybe, in addition to repairing the ride, they'll add in all the stuff going into the upcoming Small World for HKDL, like the Disney characters being added everywhere and optical effects being added to the closing scene.

Your thoughts?

If it truly is a 9 month refurb then i hope they use that time to pretty much tear it all out and redo everything. New effects, new animatronics, new paint, everything!

I always really enjoy riding It's a Small World once or twice a trip (and everyday when my grandma comes along with us, hahaha). So I think I'd be a bit disappointed if it was closed for nine long months.

I do however, think it could use a little bit of updating, but nothing too big. I love IASW, because it's a classic, it's one of those nostalgic rides, one of those rides that reminds you of your childhood. But if it's what Disney sees fit, then I'll go along with them. I trust Disney (for the most part) so I guess we'll just have to see what happens, and hopefully, the outcome will be good, and our beloved IASW will be better than ever!

I'm hoping Small World is not down for nine months, three or four, but not nine. If it's nine, then the regular version would not be in operation until 2009.

They probably want to include some of the stuff that will be in the HKDL version coming next year.

I don't think there's any need to include any stuff that the HKDL's Small World is getting. The DL attraction is fine the way it is other than fixing the roof, improving the audio sound quality, etc.
